474 <br />MIAiUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 1, 1932 <br />8:00 P.M. <br />I <br />Upon roll call, the following Councilmen were present: Mayor Wm. J. Dusel, C. J. Hildebrant, <br />1 R. N. Jones, C. G. Lambert, Paul A. McCarthy, G. W. McNulty, City Clerk B. E. Ayers. <br />Absent: Councilman H. A. Beeger. City Attorney A. Mansfield. <br />The minutes of the meeting of July 18th were approved, on motion of Councilman Lambert, seconded <br />i <br />by Councilman Jones. <br />On motion of Councilman Lambert, seconded by Councilman Jones, it was decided to contribute x— <br />$125.00 toward the San Mateo County National Horse Show. <br />1 <br />On motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, the bids for public I <br />s <br />liability insurance were opened but the matter was laid over until the adjourned meeting <br />i <br />of Monday, August 89 at 10:00 o'clock A.M. , <br />The City Clerk was instructed to inform the State Compensation Insurance Fund that the City <br />intended to continue with the compensation insurance. <br />To ratify and approve past and future procedure in this respect, on motion of Councilman <br />McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Lambert, the City Treasurer was authorized to put into <br />the General Fund all money collected from tax levy for the payment of municipal bonds and <br />interest, and at appropriate times to set aside from the General Fund into the respective <br />municipal bond funds the exact amount required for the payment of municipal bondsand <br />interest due and payable, notwithstanding there may not be sufficient money actually <br />collected from the tax levy to pay the said bonds and interest. '' <br />The Health Officer, Mr. Drathman, reported that he had taken up with Mr. Arata the complaint <br />of Mrs. Offerman concerning dust that came from the Arata business and reported that Mr. <br />Arata had promised him to eliminate the annoyance caused Mrs. Offerman and the Clerk was <br />instructed to notify Mrs. Offerman to that effect. <br />Mayor Dusel submitted a letter from the Mayors' and Councilmen's Association asking that the <br />City approve proposed articles of organization for -the League of California Municipalities. <br />On motion of Councilman Lambert, seconded by .Councilman McNulty, Mayor Dusel was authorized <br />to approve these articles in the name of the City. <br />The City Manager spoke about the electric sign at the Main Street bridge but, on motion of <br />1 <br />Councilman Lambert, seconded by Councilman McCarthy, the matter was laid over until the <br />adjourned meeting of August 8th. <br />Mr. A. T. Smith called attention of the Council to the dangerous situation existing at the <br />I <br />corner of Myrtle and Katherine Streets. This matter was referred to the City Engineer <br />for investigation. <br />The approved bills were ordered paid, on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman <br />Hildebrant. ' <br />On motion of Councilman Jones, seconded by Councilman McCarthy, the request of the County Charter <br />Committee for a contribution was laid over until,the regular meeting of August 15th. <br />On motion of Councilman Lambert, seconded by Councilman McNulty, the meeting was adjourned to <br />meet again Monday morning at 10 a.m., August 8th. <br />V <br />City Clerk <br />DT <br />
