i I 1 0 475 MINUTES OF REGULAR ADJOURNS MEETING RXDW60D CITY COUNCIL AUGUST 81 1932 10:00 a.m. Upon roll call, the following Councilmen were present: Mayor W. J. Dusel, H. A. Beeger, R. N. Jones, Geo. W. McNulty, City Clerk B. E. Myers. Absent: Councilmen C. J. Hildebrant, C. G. Lambert, Paul A. McCarthy. On motion of Councilman Beeger, seconded by Councilman Jones, the reading of the minutes of the preceding meeting was dispensed with. D. DeGiovanni of 1447 E1 Camino Real asked permission of the Council to add a porch to his present dwelling in the fire zone. He explained that the Building Inspector would not permit it. He was referred back to the Building Inspector with the assurance that the Inspector would grant the permit for the construction desired. Mrs. Jos.. Casaretto asked about the payment of a weed assessment and she was referred to the Tax Collector for adjustment. The request of the San Mateo County Charter Study Committee that the City continue its contribution of $50 a month was laid over until the next meeting. On motion of Councilman Beeger, seconded by Councilman Jones, the City Tax Collector was instructed to continue waiving penalties on the delinquent 1915 Act assessments until January 1, 1933• The awarding of Automobile Liability Insurance, laid over from the previous meeting, was taken up at this time. Mr. T. Hansen, representing the Public Indemnity Company and speaking for the Walter Insurance Agency, explained the position of his Company. In asking for a 30 -day extension of the coverage expiring July 10 the City became obligated to pay the short rate premium for this 30 -day period, or to award the contract for the year to his Company. Mr. Hansen explained that this short rate premium would amount to $147.63. Were this added to the lowest bid received, $697.91, it would make the insurance cost more than his Company would charge. Mr. Hansen made an offer to issue a policy in effect'from July 10, 1932, to August 10, 1933, for $750, waiving any extra charge for the 30 -day coverage. On motion of Councilman Jones, seconded by Councilman McNulty, the contract for this insurance was awarded to the Walter Insurance Agency for $750 for the time specified, expiring August 10, 1933• Adjournment.
