1 Mayor Dusel stated he had a letter from the Library Board indicating that the term of Mrs. A. S. Kalenborn, as Trustee, had expired. He thereupon reappointed her to serve as Trustee on the Library Board and the appointment was ratified by the other members of the Council. The miscellaneous departmental reports were ordered filed. The approved claims were ordered paid on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant. Adjournment. City Clerk I MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL SEPTEMBER 19, 1932 8:00 P.M. i Upon roll call, the following Councilmen were present: Mayor W. J. Dusel, H. A. Beeger, R. N. Jones, C. J. Hildebrant, C. G. Lambert, Paul A McCarthy, Geo. 17. McNulty, City Clerk, B. E. Myers. Absent: None, ' Minutes of September 6 were approved on motion of Councilman Jones and seconded by Councilman Hildebrant. A Mr. Moore, representing the Southern Pacific Company, appeared before the Council to ask them to reconsider its decision concerning the installation of a Griswold Automatic Two -Train signal at Spruce Street. After considerable discussion and the answering of questions by Mr. Moore, Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Lambert, moved that the Southern Pacific Company be authorized to install at Spruce Street an Automatic Two -Train Griswold signal with the I ' understanding that an additional light would be connected up to show on Pennsylvania Avenue. On vote, Councilmen Jones, Hildebrant and McNulty voted 11no°, but the motion carried as Mayor Dusel voted in favor of it. The City Clerk read a second letter from Haskins & Sell revising their bid for the City audit to o $475. This brought up again the question of appointing an auditor for the ensuing year. i Following the discussion, the proposal of C. E. Piatt, the present auditor was accepted and he was re-employed for the coming year, for $500, on motion of Councilman Lambert, seconded by Councilman McCarthy. I Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, presented a resolution fixing the tax i rate for the ensuing fiscal year and moved its adoption. Unanimously carried. The City Attorney submitted an ordinance requiring solicitors, not covered by any other ordinance, i, to obtain permits at the City Hall. This was introduced on motion of Councilman Beeger, seconded by Councilman McNulty. (Note: A revised ordinance was substituted at the follow- ing meeting.) F 479
