D <br />C <br />0 <br />1 <br />G <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />OCTOBER 3, 1932 <br />8:00 P.M. <br />Upon roll call, the following Councilmen were present: Mayor W. J. Dusel, H. A. Beeger, C. J. <br />Hildebrant, R. N. Jones, C. G. Lambert, Paul A. McCarty, Geo. W. McNulty, City Clerk, B. E. <br />Myers. Absent: None. <br />Minutes of September 19 were approved on motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman <br />McNulty. <br />Permission was given, on motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman McNulty, for the <br />reassessment requested by the San Mateo County Title Company, namely, Assessment No. 79, <br />Rogers Street, Series M. <br />Suggestion of the City Collector that the bond of John D. Pappas, and his sureties Gust A. Harbas <br />and Hazel Pappas, which had been prepared in lieu of the $100 deposit, be cancelled, was <br />favorably acted upon on motion of Councilman Lambert, seconded by Coutcilman'Hildebrant. <br />Mr. Wentz of oxford Street asked the Council if something could be done to'elimindte the flooded <br />condition of his property during the extreme wet weather. The matter was referred to the <br />City Manager and Engineer to see what could be done. <br />Mr. S. Reinhard asked permission to raise his electric sign a sufficient distance"to permit the <br />installation of a clock beneath it to comply with the ordinance requirements of the City. <br />On motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Lambert, he was given permission to <br />make the installation requested. <br />W. J. Graef'representing the Sportsmen's Club asked the Council whether or not it would care to <br />assume the cost of maintaining a telephone at the Club House. It was proposed that the City <br />would be willing to assume $2.50 a month toward this amount and Mr. Graef was instructed to <br />carry back this report to the Club. <br />The City Engineer submitted plans and specifications for the construction of the Hudson Street <br />Bridge and these were formally adopted on motion of Councilman Beeger, seconded by Councilman <br />Jones. Following this, on motion of Councilman Jones, seconded by Councilman McNulty, the <br />City Manager was instructed to advertise for bids for the construction of this bridge, which <br />bids were to be presented and opened at the next regular meeting of the Council. Incidental <br />to this procedure, the City Engineer was authorized to charge $2.50 for each set of plans <br />delivered to bidders. <br />The City Attorney presented a revised ordinance relating to solicitors who do not come under the <br />provisions of any other ordinance and on motion of Councilman Hildebrant, seconded by Council— <br />man McNulty, this ordinance was introduced. <br />The approved claims were ordered paid on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman <br />Hildebrant. <br />Adjournment. <br />BEM:MR <br />4. �. . <br />City Cler <br />SOIL <br />
