D C 0 1 G MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL OCTOBER 3, 1932 8:00 P.M. Upon roll call, the following Councilmen were present: Mayor W. J. Dusel, H. A. Beeger, C. J. Hildebrant, R. N. Jones, C. G. Lambert, Paul A. McCarty, Geo. W. McNulty, City Clerk, B. E. Myers. Absent: None. Minutes of September 19 were approved on motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman McNulty. Permission was given, on motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman McNulty, for the reassessment requested by the San Mateo County Title Company, namely, Assessment No. 79, Rogers Street, Series M. Suggestion of the City Collector that the bond of John D. Pappas, and his sureties Gust A. Harbas and Hazel Pappas, which had been prepared in lieu of the $100 deposit, be cancelled, was favorably acted upon on motion of Councilman Lambert, seconded by Coutcilman'Hildebrant. Mr. Wentz of oxford Street asked the Council if something could be done to'elimindte the flooded condition of his property during the extreme wet weather. The matter was referred to the City Manager and Engineer to see what could be done. Mr. S. Reinhard asked permission to raise his electric sign a sufficient distance"to permit the installation of a clock beneath it to comply with the ordinance requirements of the City. On motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Lambert, he was given permission to make the installation requested. W. J. Graef'representing the Sportsmen's Club asked the Council whether or not it would care to assume the cost of maintaining a telephone at the Club House. It was proposed that the City would be willing to assume $2.50 a month toward this amount and Mr. Graef was instructed to carry back this report to the Club. The City Engineer submitted plans and specifications for the construction of the Hudson Street Bridge and these were formally adopted on motion of Councilman Beeger, seconded by Councilman Jones. Following this, on motion of Councilman Jones, seconded by Councilman McNulty, the City Manager was instructed to advertise for bids for the construction of this bridge, which bids were to be presented and opened at the next regular meeting of the Council. Incidental to this procedure, the City Engineer was authorized to charge $2.50 for each set of plans delivered to bidders. The City Attorney presented a revised ordinance relating to solicitors who do not come under the provisions of any other ordinance and on motion of Councilman Hildebrant, seconded by Council— man McNulty, this ordinance was introduced.
