MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL OCTOBER 17, 1932 9:00 P.M. Upon roll call, the following Councilmen were present: Mayor W. J. Dusel, H. A. Beeger, R. N. Jones, C. J. Hildebrant, C. G. Lambert, George {9. McNulty, City Clerk, B. E. Dyers. Absent: Councilman Paul A. McCarthy. Minutes of October 3 were approved on motion of Councilman McNulty and seconded by Councilman Hildebrant. Affidavit by the Redwood City Tribune of publication "Notice to BiddersH for the Hudson Street Bridge was ordered filed. The City Manager reported that eleven bids were received and publicly opened, and recommended that the award of contract be made to the lowest bidder, Thos. J. Doyle of San Francisco. Erwen 3,592.81 60 days The City Attorney explained the difficulty of getting deeds io some of the property involved and asked that no award of this contract be made at the present meeting. Thos. J. Doyle appeared and stated that he would guarantee to finish the work.in fifty—five instead of ninety days as shown on his quotation. It was finally decided on motion of Councilmen Beeger and Hildebrant to postpone the award of contract until the next meeting and the Clerk was instructed to return the checks of all bidders except the three lowest. In a letter to the Council, Neves and Harp, Contractors of Reservoir No. 3, asked for 60 days extension in which to complete the job. This extension of time was granted on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, with the understanding that the con— tractor stand the expense of inspection from October 1st. The City Clerk of San Carlos explained that the Council there felt that the City of San Carlos could no longer continue the regular services of a pound man and asked if some arrangement could be made whereby payment could be made for each particular call. The matter was re— ferred to the City Manager. Elmer M. Rowland addressed a letter to the Council asking that if possible his salary of $50.00 a month for work in the Unemployment office be increased, expressing at the same time his Z 0 I
