1O' MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL NOVEMBER 21, 1932 5:00 P.M. Upon roll call, the following Councilmen were present: Mayor, W. J. Dusel, H. A. Beeger, R. N. Jones, C. G. Lambert, Paul A. McCarthy, George W. McNulty, City Clerk, B. E. Myers. Absent: Councilman C. J. Hildebrant. Minutes of November 7 were approved'on motion of Councilman Jones, seconded by Councilman Lambert. W. W. Stone, 231 London Street, San Francisco, appeared before the Council asking that a permit be given him to erect a service station at the south—east corner of James Street and the Highway. He stated the Planning Commission had approved his plans and the Clerk stated he had received a letter to that effect from the Planning Commission. On motion of Council— man McCarthy, seconded by Councilman McNulty, a permit was granted with the understanding that if and when the highway were widened, there should be no expense to the City and that any such expense be borne by Mr. Stone or his successors. Garbage Ordinance No. 339 came up for final -consideration and adoption and after some discussion on the part of Councilman McCarthy and others, the ordinance was unanimously adopted, the affidavit of publication having been previously ordered filed. For complete text, see Ordinance Book 3, page Following the adoption of Ordinance No. 3399 the City Attorney submitted a form of contract which had been agreed upon between him and the City Manager, and asked that he and the City Manager be authorized to execute such contract to be operative at the same time $he ILI ordinance becomes effective. On motion of Councilman Lambert, seconded by Councilman McCarthy, the authorization was given as requested. Petitions requesting license to sell liquor in Redwood City were received from Stafford & Long, Hotel Sequoia, Del Monte Grill, A. T. Gherini and Mr. & Mrs. M. J. Correia. The letters were ordered filed. The award of contract for the construction of the Hudson Street Bridge again came up for con— sideration and on motion of Councilman Jones, seconded by Councilman McCarthy, the award was made to Thos. J. Doyle of San Francisco according to his quotation of $'x,316.58, as recommended to the Council by the City Manager in his communication of October 17. His itemized bid is: ITEM 1: For all EXCAVATION, at the price of Thirty Eight and 1/2 Cents r Per yd ( 8-�) Dollars per cubic yard. I } ITEM 2: For all BACK FILLING, at the price of Eiahteen and half cents per yd.($.183.) Dollars per cubic yard. ITEM 3: For all CEMENT CONCRETE in Place complete, at the price of Twelve dollars and forty cents ($12.40) Dollars per cubic yard. 1 ITEM 4: For all REINFORCING STEEL in Place complete, at the price of r Three Cents -per lb.
