A. Beeger for a contribution toward the payment of taxes on the property held
in the estate of F. K. Towne, was also laid over.
In a letter to Geo. Hopkins, Superintendent of Parks, S. P. McClenahan, of Palo Alto, offered to
trim and cut back and treat all of the cavities in the large oak tree near the front of the
Horace Hawes Park for $132.50. On motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman
Christensen, the matter was referred to the City Manager to proceed with the work.
Mrs. Walter Scholte was given permission, revocable at any time, to install a bakery oven on
Lot' 13 of Valota Park, on Valota Road, for experimental purposes with the understanding
that it was in no way a commercial project, this location being within the business zone.
Councilman Jones introduced an ordinance changing the name of May Street to Hudson Street.
Motion seconded by Councilman McNulty and carried.
The ordinance pertaining to the pasteurizing of milk introduced at the meeting of January 7
came up for adoption, but as there was considerable disagreement in connection with it, it
was disregarded and instead another ordinance which seemed to contain stipulations agreeable
to the milk interests in Redwood City was introduced on motion of Councilman Fletcher,
seconded by Councilman Eva.
Councilman Christensen proposed and moved the adoption of the following resolution:
"RESOLVED that the City Manager of the City of Redwood City be and he is
hereby authorized to sign that certain agreement dated the 22cl day of January,
1935, and made between the City of Redwood City and the State of California by
the Department of Public works in relation to the city's share of the one-
quarter cent gasoline tax."
Resolution was seconded by Councilman Fletcher and carried unanimously.
Councilman Eva asked if it could be ascertained just what the duty of the City Officials is
toward enforcing liquor regulations affecting minors. The City Attorney was requested to
investigate and make report.,
IQ
