14 <br />The City Attorney explained resolution directing the placing of stop signs at certain intersections <br />with Broadway. Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, proposed the adoption of <br />the following resolution: <br />Resolved by the Council of the City of Redwood City that the Superintendent of <br />Streets of said City be and is hereby ordered and directed under the provisions of the ordinances <br />of said city to erect stop signs at the following places, to -wit: <br />One on the northeasterly side of Broadway at the easterly line of Main Street; one on <br />the westerly side of Main Street at the northeasterly line of Broadway; one on the easterly line <br />of Jefferson Avenue at the southwesterly line of Broadway; one on the westerly line of Jefferson <br />Avenue at the northeasterly line of Broadway; one on the easterly line of the -Middlefield Road at <br />the southwesterly line of Broadway; one at the westerly line of the Middlefield Road at the north- <br />easterly line of Broadway; one at the easterly line of Hamilton Street at the southweeterly line <br />of Broadway; one on the westerly line of Hamilton Street at the northeasterly line of Broadway; <br />one on the easterly line of Winslow Street at the southwesterly line of Broadway; one on the west- <br />erly lineeof Winslow Street at the northeasterly line of Broadway; one on the southwesterly line of <br />Arguello Street at the northeasterly line of Broadway; one on the southwesterly line of Perry Street <br />at the northeasterly line of Broadway; and one on the easterly line -of California Street at the <br />southwesterly line of Broadway; and one on the northeasterly line of Stambaugh Street at the easterly <br />line of Main Street. <br />Any person violating any of the provisions of this resolution by failing to stop at said <br />stop signs mentioned herein shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and punished as provided by ordinances <br />of said city regulating said stop signs and authorizing the passage of this resolution.. <br />Passed and adopted by the council of the City of Redwood City at a regular meeting held <br />on the 20th day of March, by the following vote: <br />Ayes and in <br />favor <br />of the passage <br />of the foregoing <br />resolution: <br />Councilman: <br />H. A. <br />Beeger, C. J. <br />Hildebrant, R. N. <br />Jones, C. G. Lambert, G. W. McNulty, <br />W. J. Dusel. <br />Noes and against the passage of the foregoing resolution. <br />Councilmen: None <br />Absent: Councilman P. A. McCarthy. <br />WILLIAM J. Hildebrant addressed the Council about the <br />desirability of having such stop signs on Spruce Street where it crosses Middlefield Road. <br />The City Engineer submitted the Assessor's map for the City of Redwood City according to arbitrary <br />lot and block for the fiscal year 1933-34 and the map was officially adopted on motion of <br />G <br />
