11
n
Ordinance No. 369 dividing the City into election precincts and establishing the boundaries
thereof was formally and unanimously adopted on motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded
by Councilman Eva.
The City Attorney asked whether the Council wished in selecting the election officers for
the coming election to use the County list or to advertise, and he was instructed to
advertise for such election officers.
Councilman Eva asked if it was not about time to begin to prepare Horace Hawes Park for the
use of solfbaseball players. City Manager Dimmltt was requested to investigate and
make report.
Councilman Fletcher brought up the desirability of having Sergeant Wood in the office of the
' Police Department dressed in uniform, rather than in civilian clothes, and the matter
was referred to Chief Collins.
There was considerable discussion, participated in by Councilmen Eva, McCarthy and others,
on the desirability of having all dogs on public streets held on leash. It was
decided not to pat through an ordinance to this effect now, but to ask the papers to
make some comment about it and seek to get the cooperation of dog owners to handle
the situation without a definite ordinance.
City Manager Dimmitt proposed to the Council that the'City buy a parcel of land near the
strip bought at the time of buying the O'Dea well and more particularly described as
Lot A, Belle Haven Subdivision $2. He was authorized, on motion of Councilman Chris -
tensen, seconded by Councilman McNulty to buy this strip of land at the stipulated
price of about $100.
The departmental reports were ordered filed.
The approved claims were ordered paid on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by
Councilman Christensen.
Adjournment'.
BEM: MR
4 b.,/'
City Clerk
179
