MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />APRIL 17, 1933 <br />8:00 P. 14. <br />Upon roll call, the following .Councilmen were present: Mayor N. J. Dusel, H. A. Beeger, C. J. <br />Hildebrant, R. N. Jones, C. G. Lambert, Paul A. McCarthy, Geo. W. McNulty, City Clerk, B. E. <br />Myers. Absent: None. <br />�n mofion <br />Minutes of April 3 were approved^by Councilman Beeger, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant. <br />A Mr. Graham, representing Foster and Kleiser, asked permission to erect two signs, one at Main <br />Street and Broadway and one at Heller and Cassia Streets. On motion of Councilman McCarthy, <br />seconded by Councilman Lambert, permission was given to erect the sign on Heller Street be— <br />tween Cassia and Main Streets, Councilman McNulty voting "No". Decision on the sign for <br />Main Street and Broadway was laid over until the next meeting. <br />John Harkness, representing the Redwood City Civic.Club, asked the Council concerning the matter <br />of lowering water rates. The City Manager explained that it was intended as far as possible <br />to make the income and the expenditures balance. The City Attorney When asked about Council— <br />man Beeger's suggestion to buy bonds said, in his opinion, "it can't be done"! The City <br />Manager explained the proposed schedule of rates worked out by him and the City Engineer, after <br />which Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Lambert, proposed that these rates beya6 ted <br />N <br />and be operative as of April 1. <br />PROPOSED NATER RATES <br />(a) Any amount not exceeding 400 cubic feet at 25¢ per 100 cubic feet. <br />(b) -Any amount more than 400 cubic feet and not exceeding 6000 cubic feet at 22¢. <br />(c) Any amount more than 6000 cubic feet and not exceeding 30000 cubic feet at 18¢. <br />(d) Any amount more than 30000 cubic feet at 150 per 100 cubic feet. <br />Provided, however, that the minimum amount for each month to be charged and <br />collected from any consumer within the corporate limits of Redwood City shall be as follows: <br />(a) For 5/8 inch metered service ......................................$ 1..,00 per month <br />(b) <br />For <br />3/4 11 " <br />"...................................... <br />1.50 " u <br />(c) <br />For <br />1 u u <br />it ...................................... <br />2.25 a It <br />(d) <br />For <br />1? u u <br />If ...................................... <br />4.50 " 1' <br />(e) <br />For <br />2 u it <br />"...................................... <br />7.00 If " <br />(f) <br />For <br />3 <br />...................................... <br />14.00 " <br />(g) <br />For <br />4 " " <br />°...................................... <br />23.50 It " <br />(h) <br />For <br />6 " u <br />°...................................... <br />42.50 If " <br />Provided, also, that these proposed rates shall be operative within the corporate* limits <br />of Redwood City. <br />After filing affidavit of publication of Ordinance No. 342, on motion of Councilman Beeger, seconded <br />by Councilman Hildebrant, this ordinance, repealing Ordinances No..216)known as the "Little <br />Volstead Acte and No. 221, was formally adopted by unanimous vote.
