[7 <br />i <br />H. A. Beeger, Trustee for the F. K. Towne Estate Creditors, asked the City to advance $50.07 as <br />its share of the current taxes on the real property comprising the Trust. On motion of <br />Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman McNulty, the Treasurer was authorized to make the <br />payment. <br />In connection with the solicitation made by the Salvation Army and Volunteers of America, the City <br />Clerk was authorized to communicate with these organizations and inform them to make no soli— <br />citation for either money, clothes, etc., within Redwood City after April 30. 1. <br />The City Attorney submitted resolution covering the abatement of weeds but, after some discussion, <br />and upon vote, the resolution failed of adoption. <br />Councilman Jones thought it would be advisable to follow up the "Milwaukeel�-0plan for the issuing <br />of currency to municipalities. <br />ri <br />Councilman McCarthy asked the Council to authorize that an assessed value of $10,000 -be placed on <br />the improvements (the Catholic School) at the corner of Katherine and Grand Streets. Upon <br />motion of Councilman Lambert, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, the City Assessor was so in— <br />structed. <br />The approved claims were ordered paid on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman <br />xldebrarit. <br />Adjournment. <br />City Clete <br />BEM:MR <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />IMWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />MAY 1, 1933 <br />8:00 P.M. <br />Upon roll call, the following Councilmen were present: Mayor W. J. Dusel, C. J. Hildebrant, R. N. <br />Jones, C. G. Lambert, Paul A. McCarthy, Geo. W. McNulty. City Clerk, B. E. Myers. Absent: <br />H. A. Beeger. <br />Minutes of April 17 were approved by Councilman Jones, seconded by Councilman McCarthy. <br />Chas. R. Thorburn of the Dumbarton Briage Organization asked permission to erect a sign at the <br />junction of Brewster Avenue and E1 Camino Real, indicating a willingness to comply with any <br />regulations desired by the City. Permission was granted on motion of Councilman Lambert, <br />seconded by Councilman McCarthy. <br />E. H. Hirsch of 435 Clinton Street made complaint to the Council about the annoyance caused him by <br />neighborts chickens. No action was taken. <br />Mr. Welch representing Foster & Kleiser again brought up the question of a permit for the erection <br />of a sign at the corner of Broadway and Main Street, but the application was not granted. <br />Fire Chief Ryan spoke of the assistance given his department -by the Fire Departments of San Carlos <br />and Menlo Park and requested the Council to have a letter of thanks and appreciation sent to <br />these respective communities.
