r <br />1 - <br />Ld07 <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR ADJOURNED MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />MAY 11, 1936 <br />7.30 P.M. <br />Upon roll call, the following Councilmen were present: Mayor, Paul A. McCarthy, L. C. Christensen, <br />J. M. Eva, E. A. Pletcher, Wm. Hohn-, R. N. Jones, G. W. McNulty, City Clerk, B. E. Myers. <br />Absent: None. <br />On motion of Councilman Eva, seconded by Councilman McNulty, Judge E. I. McAuliffe was given <br />permission to leave the State on his vacation. <br />On motion of Councilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman Hohn, Mayor McCarthy was given <br />permission to leave the State. <br />Councilman Pletcher, seconded by Councilman Jones, proposed the adoption of the following <br />re'solution: II <br />"The heads of all departments and any .employees authorized ��� <br />to purchase any printed matter for saild)city shall upon all .such <br />printed matter upon which it. might be proper for a union label to. <br />be placed .to purchase said materials from a place of business which <br />has the typographical union label and said union label.shall.be <br />placed upon all.such printed matter upon which it might be proper <br />so to do.11 <br />Councilmen Fletcher and Jones voted "Yes". All others voted "No°. Resolution not <br />carried. <br />On motion of Councilman Eva, seconded by Councilman Christensen, Ordinance No. 375, calling <br />a special election in the City of Redwood City for the purpose of submitting to the <br />electors of said City the proposition of incurring a bonded indebtedness of said City <br />for the acquisition of the following municipal improvement of said City, to -wit: A <br />Municipal Harbor; declaring the estimated cost of said municipal improvement, the <br />amount of principal of said indebtedness to be incurred therefor, and the maximum rate <br />of interest to be paid thereon; fixing the date of said election, the manner of holding <br />the same, establishing election precincts and polling places for said election and <br />appointing boards of election therefor, and providing for notice thereof, was unanimously <br />adopted.
