i <br />Councilman Christensen, for the period ending June 30, 1937, with the understanding <br />that the permission be revocable at any time and the plans of the building be subject <br />j to the approval of the Building Inspector. <br />Councilman Jones, seconded by Councilman Hohn, proposed the ,adoption of the following <br />0 <br />A <br />resolution which was unanimously carried: <br />RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood.City that <br />under the provisions of Section 12 of Ordinance No. 251 (Zoning <br />Ordinance) the Planning Commission of the City of Redwood City is <br />hereby requested to hear and consider and recommend to the Council <br />its conclusions upon the changing of the set back lines on Main <br />Street from Manle Street to E1 Camino Real as follows, to -wit: <br />. That the present set back of ten (10) feet on the south- <br />westerly side of Main Street between Maple Street and E1 Camino <br />Real be eliminated. <br />That the present set back of ten (10) feet on the north- <br />easterly side of Main Street between Maple Street and E1 Camino <br />Real be increased to fourteen (14) feet. <br />The City Manager was asked to ascertain the cost of.lighting both lamps on our street <br />electroliers. <br />U <br />Councilman Eva submitted and explained a report concerning arrangements that have been <br />made for adjustment of 1915 Bond Act Assessments. <br />Mayor McCarthy submitted a letter from Stone & Youngberg offering 1915 Act Bonds, <br />$7,763.92 par value, for a net figure of $6,970.03, and on motion of Councilman <br />Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Christensen, the City Treasurer was authorizocl <br />to make the purchase. <br />Councilman Eva proposed that the City do something about planning some scheme of beauti- <br />fication of the City and he proposed, seconded by Councilman McNulty, and carried, <br />that the City Manager prepare, or have the Park Superintendent prepare, a five year <br />progressive scheme of City Beautification in which it was suggested the old corporation <br />yard might be included in the first unit. <br />A protest from the Louvre French Laundry concerning an excessive water bill was referred <br />to the City Manager for adjustment. <br />The City Manager was asked to get in touch with Col. V. C. Allin, of Stockton, with the <br />idea of asking him to render the City assistance in producing proper publicity in <br />connection with the Harbor bond issue coming before the people at the next election. <br />It was also understood that in case Col. Allin could not serve the City Manager would <br />endeavor to reach others for the same purpose. This, on motion of Councilman Eva, <br />seconded by Councilman McNulty. <br />Councilman Eva, seconded by Councilman McNulty, proposed that the Council instruct the City <br />Attorney to file,with the Supreme Court a petition for a Writ of review concerning the <br />t, <br />closing of Beech Street. Carried. <br />The approved claims were ordered paid on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman <br />Jones. <br />Adjournment. <br />:� r <br />Cit; <br />249 <br />
