<br />Mr. U. Roebothom of the Emerald Lake District addressed the Council relative to the -
<br />Emerald Lake bus service now being carried on and operated by T. J. Henderson
<br />and stated that the Railroad Commission was holding a hearing on February 3#,1937,
<br />at 10 o'clock A.M. in the Supervisors' Chamber in the Colin; House and requested
<br />that the city be represented in the interest of the residents of the territory
<br />served by the bus line.
<br />On motion of Councilman Eva, seconded by Councilman Christensen, and carried, Councilman
<br />Fletcher and City Attorney Mansfield were requested to represent the city at the
<br />above hearing.
<br />Mrs. Ball of the Highlands District Improvement Club of the Emerald Lake section stated
<br />that the club was. planting a large number of trees upon some of the streets in that
<br />district and extending down as far as the city limits on Jefferson Avenue, and re-
<br />quested the,city to furnish water for the trees and some shrubs for a three (3) year
<br />period in order for them to get properly started.
<br />Upon motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Eva, and carried, the request
<br />was granted and the City Manager was directed to complete arrangements therefor.
<br />The matter of the hearing before the Division of Highways at Sacramento on the allocation
<br />c
<br />of funds for the widening of E1 Camino Real, from Redwood City to Palo Alto was dis-
<br />cussed and upon motion of Councilman Jones, seconded by Councilman Eva, and carried,
<br />the Mayor was authorized to appoint a committee to attend said hearing which is to
<br />be held on February 5, 1937, at 10 o'clock a.m, in Sacramento.
