304 After filing affidavit of publication, Ordinance,PTo. 395 regulating the enlargement, alteration, or repair of frame or wooden buildings in the fire district was unanimously adopted on motion of Councilman Eva, seconded by Councilman McNulty. After filing affidavit of publication, Ordinance ITo. 394 approving the annexation of the Redwood City Harbor district to the City of Redwood City was unanimously adopted on motion of Councilman Eva, seconded by Councilman Christensen. Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Christensen_, proposed the adoption of resolution accepting indenture from the Palpar, Inc., a corporation, covering certain water system equipment. Carried. Councilman Fletcher asked about sidewalks on James Avenue, and it was decided to take this matter up at the next meeting. On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Christensen, and carried, it was decided that all employees of the City of Redwood City not only be bona fide residents of the City, but that before their employment they shall have resided in Redwood City for at least one year. The Clerk was instructed to write to Governor Merriman and ask him to sign Assembly Bills 2392 and 1559• On motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Eva, it was decided to charge $5.00 for the use, by other than city departments, of the Fire House Auditorium, this amount to cover the cost of janitor service. Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Christensen, urged that the Council recognize the bereavement of Mrs. Jones in the loss of her mother and that flowers and a suitable note of condolence be sent to Mrs. Jones. Carried. The approved claims were ordered paid on motion of Councilman McNulty and Councilman Fletcher.
