D <br />u <br />f <br />s <br />t <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR ADJOURNED MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />JUNE 28, 1937 <br />5:00 P. Zvi, <br />Upon roll call, the following Councilmen were present: Mayor Paul A. McCarthy, Councilmen <br />L. C. Christensen, J. M. Eva, Wm. Hohn, and G. W. McNulty. Absent: Councilmen <br />E. A. Fletcher, R. N. Jones, and City Clerk, B. E. Myers. <br />On motion of Councilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman McNulty, Councilman Eva was <br />chosen to serve as Clerk pro tem in the absence of the City Clerk. <br />The City Manager submitted a P. W. A. application for addition to harbor and warehouse, <br />being an amendatory application affecting P. W. A. project, California 1445-D, <br />Following this, Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Christensen, proposed <br />the adoption of the following resolution: <br />°A resolution authorizing the Mayor of Redwood City to file an <br />application to the United States of America through the Federal <br />Emergency Administration of Public Works for a grant to aid in <br />financing the construction of Warehouse No. 1 and completion <br />of Wharf 2:o. 1 and designating the City Manager to furnish such <br />information as the Government may request. <br />Be it resolved by the City Council of Redwood City: <br />Section 1. That The Mayor, be and he is authorized to execute <br />and file an application on behalf of the City of Redwood City <br />to the United States of America for a grant to aid in financing <br />the construction of Warehouse No. 1 and completion of Wharf No. 1. <br />Section 2. That the City Manager, be hereby atilthorized and <br />directed to furnish such information as the United States of <br />America through the Federal Emergency Administration of Public <br />Works may reasonably request in connection with the applica- <br />tion which is herein authorized to be filed.° Carried. <br />There was submitted a letter from George A. Merrill regarding certain playground equip- <br />ment which had been at the Lux School at San Francisco. The equipment was offered <br />to the City for $275. On motion of Councilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman <br />McNulty, the City Manager was authorized to purchase the equipment at the price <br />offered. Carried. <br />The City Manager submitted a letter to the Council concerning the completion of the <br />contract of the Healy-Tibbitts Construction Company indicating that the completion <br />date is July 9, 1937. The Manager recommended that because the work had been <br />delayed by strike conditions and other causes that the date for the completion of <br />the contract be advanced to September 9, 1937. This was done on motion of Council- <br />man McNulty, seconded by Councilman Christensen. <br />The City Manager submitted a letter indicating that W. 0. Tyson would be unable to <br />complete the work under his contract by the specified date of September 12, 1937. <br />The Manager therefore recommended that an extension of time for the completion of <br />the contract be made and that the date be advanced to October 15, 1937. The <br />Manager's recommendation was accepted and the time extended as recommended on <br />motion of Councilman Hohn, seconded by Councilman Christensen. <br />X05 <br />
