J. Dusel, C. J. Hildebrant, <br />R. N. Jones, C. G. Lambert, Paul A. McCarthy, Geo. W. McNulty, City Clerk, B. E. Myers. <br />Absent: H. A. Beeger. <br />The minutes_.of the meeting of July 3 and the special adjourned meeting of July 10 were ap— <br />proved on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman McCarthy. <br />Gordon Seely who had deposited with the Treasurer a check covering a disputed water bill <br />appeared before the Council to explain the circumstances. It was finally decided to <br />cancel the charge on motion of Councilman Jones, seconded by Councilman McCarthy. <br />Angelo Scilini owning property on Marshall Street near Arguello appeared before the Council <br />to ask permission to alter the front of his present building so that the front wall of <br />the reconstructed building would rest where the present porch line is. Permission was <br />granted on motion of -Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant. <br />The question of the amount of plumbers' license came up for discussion, having been previously <br />I <br />brought before the Council by Stephen Seasak, who was present, as was also P. E. Brand, <br />R. E. Bruce and William Jamieson. Some advocated a reduction of the license and others <br />were of the opinion that it might be retained at the $50.00 figure. However, finally, on f <br />motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Lambert, the City Collector was in— <br />structed to collect, until further notice, a yearly license fee of $25.00, effective { <br />July 1, from plumbers who have a fixed place of business within the city, and a fee of <br />$50.00 from plumbers outside the city. I <br />L. C. Maccabee, of the County Engineer's office, addressed the Council concerning its attitude <br />�l <br />about the contemplated survey of the sewage condition in the southern part of the county I� <br />and asked the Council if it desired to go on record as approving such a project.
