After filing affidavit of the Street Superintendent for posting notices to destroy weeds, <br />Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Jones, proposed adoption of Resolution <br />Requiring the Abatement of Nuisance (eliminating weeds). Carried. <br />Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McCarthy, proposed adoption of resolution <br />accepting deed executed by John E. and Ethel M. McCarthy granting to the City certain <br />small area of land near the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Duane Street. Carried. <br />Councilman Jones, seconded by Councilman McCarthy, proposed the approval of tha recommen- <br />dation of the City Manager concerning the schedule of water rates which he set forth <br />in a communication to the Council under date of April 25, reading as shown below, <br />which motion carried. <br />I'As the definite policy has now been decided to purchase our entire <br />water supply from the San Francisco Water Department, and as the new rate <br />schedule established by the Public Utilities Commission will allow a re- <br />vision of our own schedule as proposed in a previous discussion of the <br />subject, I submit for your approval the following rate schedules, to be <br />effective for the June billing and thereafter. This schedule, if adopted, <br />will amend Section 3 of the Rates and Rules of the Redwood City Water <br />Department, as follows: <br />SECTION 3. RATES <br />(1) The rates to be charged and collected for water supplied <br />by the Redwood'City Water Department to consumers WITHIN the limits <br />of the City of Redwood City are hereby fixed as follows, <br />For water delivered, based on monthly readings: <br />(a) For the first 3,300 cubic feet -------25 cents per 100 <br />(b) For the next 30,000 cubic feet -------20 cents per 100 <br />(c) For the next 300,000 cubic feet ------17 cents per 100 <br />(d) For all above 333,300 cubic feet -----15 cents per 100 <br />Provided, however, that the minimum amount for each month to <br />be charged and collected for service shall be as follows: <br />(a) For 5/9 inch meter-----------------$ 1.00 <br />(b) For 3/4 inch meter----------------- 1.50 <br />(c) For 1 inch meter----------------- 2.25 <br />(d) For la inch meter----------------- 4.50 <br />(e) For 2 inch meter----------------- 7.00 <br />(f) For 3 inch meter----------------- 14.00 <br />(g) For 4 inch meter----------------- 23.50 <br />(h) For 6 inch meter----------------- 42.50 <br />A discount of ten (10) per cent will be allowed on all bills <br />paid on or before the 15th day of the month following the month <br />during which said service shall have been rendered. <br />(2) The rates to be charged and collected for water supplied <br />by the Redwood City Water Department to consumers OUTSIDE the limits <br />of the City of Redwood City, where no extra pumping expense is re- <br />quired to provide such service, are hereby fixed as follows: <br />For water delivered, based on monthly meter readings: <br />(a) For the first 3,300 cubic feet ------------ 29.9 cents per 100 <br />(b) For the next 30,000 cubic feet ------------ 25.2 cents per 100 <br />(c) For all above 33,300 cubic feet -----------20 cents per 100 <br />Provided, however„ that the minimum amount for each month to be <br />charged and collected for service through a water meter shall be as <br />follows: <br />M <br />
