436 <br />All work provided for herein shall be done and made to the <br />grades,as shown on the plans, profiles and detailed drawings, which <br />grades are hereby adopted as the official grades for said work and <br />improvements, and reference is hereby made to the plans, profiles <br />and detailed drawings for a description of the grades at which said <br />work is to be done and said improvements made and the same are made <br />a part hereof. <br />All the hereinbefore and hereinabove mentioned and described <br />work and improvements are to be done and made at the locations and <br />positions and of the sizes and dimensions and of the materials as <br />shown and described on the plans, profiles, detailed drawings and <br />specifications adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City on <br />the 18th day of July, 1938, and now on file in the office of the Clerk <br />of said City, to which plans, profiles, detailed drawings and spe- <br />cifications reference is hereby made for a complete description and <br />location of said work and improvements and for further particulars, <br />and the same are made a part hereof. <br />And the Council of the City of Redwood City does hereby deter- <br />mine and declare that the foregoing described work and improvements <br />are of more than local or ordinary public benefit and will effect and <br />benefit the lands and district hereinafter mentioned, which said dis- <br />trict is hereby declared to be the district benefited by said work <br />and improvements; that therefore the entire costs and expenses of <br />said work and improvements shall be and are hereby made chargeable <br />against and shall be assessed upon said lands and district, which <br />district is within the limits of the City of Redwood City, County of <br />San Mateo, State of California, and said district is described and <br />shown on a certain map or plat entitled "Map Showing Assessment Dis- <br />trict under Resolution of Intention No. 1938-4" which map or plat was <br />adopted and approved by the Council of the City of Redwood City on the <br />18th day of July, 1938, and which map or plat is now on file in the <br />office of the Clerk of said City of Redwood City, and to which map or <br />plat reference is hereby made for an accurate and complete description <br />and location of said assessment district and the same is made a part <br />hereof; provided, however, that all streets and avenues or portions <br />thereof included within said assessment district and shown on the map <br />or plat thereof shall be omitted from any assessment levied for the <br />costs and expenses of the work aforesaid, said streets and avenues and <br />portions thereof now being in public use as public streets and avenues. <br />And notice is hereby given and the Council of the City of Red- <br />wood City does determine that serial bonds bearing interest at the rate <br />of six (6%) per cent per annum from their date shall be issued as pro- <br />vided by Section 5 of Article 1 of Ordinance No. 333 of the City of <br />Redwood City, commonly known as "Redwood City Improvement Procedure <br />Ordinance" to represent each assessment of twenty-five ($25) dollars <br />or over for the costs and expenses of said work and improvements. <br />Said bonds shall extend from their date over a period of nine (9) years <br />from the 2nd day of January next succeeding the 15th day of the next <br />November following their date. All work provided for herein shall be <br />done as provided in Section 3 of Article 1 of Ordinance No.333 of the <br />City of Redwood City, commonly known as "Redwood City Improvement Pro- <br />cedure Ordinance," which ordinance was passed and adopted by the Council <br />of the City of Redwood City on the 14th day of March, 1932, and is now <br />of record and on file in the office of the Clerk of said City of Redwood <br />City and to which reference is hereby made and the same made a part hereof." <br />RESOLVED, that said Council of the City of Redwood City hereby rejects all <br />of said proposals or bids except that next herein mentioned and hereby awards <br />the contract for doing said work and making said improvements to the lowest, <br />regular, responsible bidder, to wit: W. 0. TYSON at the prices named in his bid. <br />The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish a notice of this award twice <br />in the Redwood City Tribune, a daily (except Sunday) newspaper published, printed <br />and circulated in said City of Redwood City, and hereby designated for that purpose <br />by the Council of said City. <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at the hour of <br />8:35 o'clock P.M. at an adjourned regular meeting thereof held on the 29th day of <br />August, 1938, by the following vote: " <br />Carried. <br />L.� <br />
