<br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING
<br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL
<br />DECEMBER 41 1933
<br />5:00 P.M.
<br />Upon roll call, the following Councilmen were present: Mayor, W. J. Dasel, H. A. Beeger, C. J.
<br />Hildebrant, R. N. Jones, C. G. Lambert, Paul A. McCarthy. City Clerk, B. E. Myers.
<br />Absent: Geo. W. McNulty.
<br />The minutes of the meeting of November 20 were approved on motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded
<br />by Councilman Lambert.
<br />A second letter from Col. John H. Skaggs, District Engineer, was read in which he asked for action
<br />on that certain resolution applying to highways through Redwood City. The City Manager was
<br />18structed to get in touch with Col. Skaggs and arrange for a reply at a later date.
<br />Affidavit showing publication of the call for bids on the Emerald Lake project was ordered filed.
<br />On this date, in the office of'the City Manager, seven bids were opened for the construction
<br />of the million gallon reservoir and installation of a cast iron pipe line and the City
<br />Manager filed a written recommendation that the award be made in favor of W. J. Tobin of Oak-
<br />land who bid $19,696.78 as follows:
<br />FOR CONSTRUCTION OF RESERVOIR.
<br />ITEM 1. - For all GRADING-FJCCAVATION, the sum of Sixty Cents ($0.60) per cubic yard.
<br />ITEM 2. - For all GRADING-EMBANHIdENT, the. sum of Thirty Cents ($0.30) per cubic yard.
<br />ITEM 3. - For GRADING -TOP SOIL, consisting of removing top soil as directed at
<br />beginning of work, stock -piling same outside the lines of the work, and -
<br />later rehandling and spreading same over embanlonent slopes, for this
<br />work complete and in place, the sum of Thirty Cents ($0.30) per cubic
<br />yard.
<br />ITEM 4. - For all "GUNITE" in the lining of reservoir, including the column footings,
<br />the top curb and base therefor, all steel reinforcement, and all incidental
<br />work, the sum of Twenty-six Dollars ($26.00) per cubic yard.
<br />ITEM 5. - For all "GUNITE" in gutters around outside wall of reservoir, including
<br />steel Peinforcement and all incidental work, the sum of Twenty-four Dollars
<br />and 50/100 ($24.50) per cubic yard.
<br />ITEM 6. - For all "GUNITE" in columns above footings, including steel reinforcement
<br />and all incidental work, the sum of Thirty-seven Dollars ($37.00) per
<br />cubic yard.
<br />ITEM 7. - For the ROOF complete, including all incidental work and materials required
<br />therefor, the sum of Thirty-eight Hundred Dollars ($3,800.00).
<br />ITEM 8. - For all Eight (8) inch vitrified clay sewer pipe in place complete, the
<br />sum of One Dollar ($1.00) per lineal foot.
<br />FOR CAST IRON PIPE LINE.
<br />ITEM 9. - For all Eight (8) inch CAST IRON PIPE, including trenching, laying of pipe,
<br />back -filling, tamping, furnishing of all material and equipment (EXCEPTING
<br />fittings and valves), and all incidental work, the sum of One Dollar and
<br />Thirty Cents ($1.30) per lineal foot of pipe.
<br />ITEM 10.- For 132 lineal feet of six (6) inch cast iron pipe, including all fittings
<br />and valves, as shown on the plan of reservoir and to be constructed as an
<br />outlet from reservoir, the total sum of Two Hundred Eighteen and 28/100
<br />($218.28)
<br />ITEM 11.- For all CAST IRON FITTINGS, including tees, crosses, wyes, bonds, plugs,
<br />double bell and pipes, but excepting those already included in ITEM 10
<br />which 6 inch outlet pipe from reservoir, the sum of Six Cents ($0.06) per
<br />pound.
