475 <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />III' NOVEMBER 21, 1938 <br />8:00 P. M. <br />Upon roll call the following were.present: Councilmen H. F. Anderson, E. A. Fletcher, <br />Wm. Rohn, R. N. Jones, P. A. McCarthy, G. W. McNulty, Mayor L. C. Christensen, <br />and City Clerk B. E. Myers. <br />The minutes of November 2, 4, and 7 were approved, after slight changes, on motion <br />u' of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Fletcher. <br />Albert Davies of the Davies Auto Company was given permission to make alterations <br />at the front of the present building subject to the approval of the Building <br />Inspector; this on,motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman <br />Anderson. <br />Following recommendation of the City Planning Commission, J. F. Dingman was given <br />permission to erect.a building on Lots 3, 4, and 5 of Block 1, Boyd and Kent <br />Subdivision, on the Woodside Road, on motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded <br />by Councilman McNulty. <br />Ludwig E. Werder discussed the 1939 Exposition Model Homes Tours to be conducted <br />from May to September. He stressed the fact that all the neighboring com- <br />munities were represented by at least one unit, but that Redwood City had <br />no house to be visited. After considerable discussion, the Council went on <br />OI record, following motion by Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman <br />Fletcher, as being in favor of a commitment of not more than $1500 for <br />cGrrying charges on a Redwood City project, this amount to be included in <br />the 19391940 budget. <br />Joe Farr, representing the Bicycle Club, spoke on certain changes in the proposed <br />bicycle ordinance, and he was referred to Attorney Mansfield and Councilman <br />Anderson to work out a suitable form for the ordinance. <br />The Clerk was instructed to bring up at the next.meeting the following items; <br />Title to cemetery, the °Williams"' Barn, insurance liability at Pistol Range, <br />Nevada and Hillview Improvements, building at the corner of E1 Camino and <br />Harrison, Benson property (corner of Bradford and Middlefield). <br />Following recommendation by the City Planning Commission, F. Bigland, representing <br />Air. C. A. Charles was given permission to construct an auto court consisting <br />of 6 bungalows and a residence on Arbitrary Block No. 283, Lot 1, fronting on <br />E1 Camino Real.
