sistent]y grant his request.
The City Attorney explained an ordinance affecting those who would carry on card parties as
a business indicating that the ordinance iri question had been introduced some years
before but had -never been passed. The discussion brought out several doubtful points
and it was finally decided to have the City Attorney rewrite the ordinance and have it
ready for the next meeting.
Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Beeger, presented and moved the adoption of re—
solution providing for a General Municipal Election in the City of Redwood City on the
9th day of April for the purpose of electing three members to the Council of Redwood
City. Carried unanimously.
Mayor Dusel called the attention of the Council to the outstanding work being done by the
First Aid unit of the Redwood City Fire Department and explained chat the group of men
was planning to go to Los Angeles to compete in a general meeting there. He suggested
that it would be a very friendly and appreciative gesture on the part of the Council to
make some appropriation toward the expense of the trip. While no specific amount of
money was granted for this purpose, the matter was left up to the City Manager to work
out with the team.
The question of the extension of Maple Street through to the Bayshore Highway was brought up
and on motion of Councilman Beeger, seconded by Councilman Lambert, the City Engineer
was asked to make a report.
The approved claims were ordered paid on motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman
Jones.
Adjournment.
City Clerk
BEM:MR V
