1
t I
JL
Charles Lock (no address) offered to pay $,450 for Lot 8, Block 10, Lenolt
Tract, provided he had permission to erect an office and shop upon
the lot. As this came within the jurisdiction of the City Planning
Commission, Mr. Lock was told to take it up with that organization
first.
Petition signed by 27 contractors and subcontractors of Redwood City re-
questing that a license ordinance be amended to charge contractors
a certain fee was filed with the Council and referred to the license
committee.
A petition of complaint was filed with the Council by Mr. and Mrs. James
G. Hansen (the petition having been signed by 20 property owners).
The petition set forth that the building at 243 Fulton Street was
unsightly and a fire hazard with rubbish accumulation in the yard and
asked the Council to take some action against the owner of the prop-
erty to abate these conditions. The discussion indicated that the
tenant at this address had refused inspection of the premises but had
indicated a desire to appear before the Council if complaint were made.
The matter was referred to the City Manager to take up with the owner
and the tenant, to have inspection made and to arrange to have either the
owner or tenant or both to appear before the Council at the next meeting
in case they did not comply with the wishes of the City Manager and the
Building Inspector.
D. L. Walter sounded out the Board as to its attitude on the removal of the
real estate office now located at the corner of Wellesley Avenue and
El Camino Real. Mr. Walter was told that this would really be some-
thing to be decided by the Planning Commission and was referred to that
organization.
F. E. Brumblay, 1132 Laguna, Burlingame, asked for temporary permit for his
business of photographer at 109 Stambaugh Street with the understanding
that as soon as he could get the apartments in the Jamieson Building
for which he was arranging he would take out the regular license. On
motion of Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, he was
given a temporary permit for 30 days, and the license clerk was to be
instructed accordingly.
Councilman McCarthy reported the activity of the license committee, but said
nothing definite had been accomplished as yet.
X9:5
