F • � �S <br />v .r <br />MINUTES OF ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />JANUARY 22, 1940 <br />8:00 P. M. <br />Upon roll call the following Councilmen were present: E. A. Fletcher, R.N. Jones, <br />P. A. McCarthy, G. W. McNulty, Mayor L. 0. Christensen, and City Clerk B.E. <br />Myers; absent, Councilmen H. F. Anderson and Wm. Hohn. <br />The Planning Commission filed letter recommending the zoning and changing of <br />setback lines according to notice attached to letter. <br />Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McNulty, moved to introduce ordin- <br />ance zoning certain properties specified and changing setback line on <br />streets mentioned; at the same time setting January 29 at 9 P. M. as the <br />date for the hearing thereon. Carried. <br />Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, proposed adoption of <br />Ordinance 433 regulating the enlargement, alteration, or repair of frame <br />and wooden buildings in districts other than fire districts. Carried. <br />Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman.McNultyy, proposed adoption of <br />Ordinance 434 amending Ordinance 4213 Redwood City Building Code. Carried. <br />A. B. Cheatham requested permission to build, according to sketch submitted, <br />on -California Street back of the American Trust Company Bank to the <br />corner of Montgomery Street. On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded <br />by Councilman McNulty, the building inspector was authorized to issue <br />building permit for the construction. <br />On motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman McNulty,,the City <br />Manager was instructed to see that all model home signs were taken down. <br />Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Jones, proposed that the Council <br />pass resolution adopting budget and approving supplementary memorandum <br />of agreement concerning the use of gas tax money. Carried. <br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Jones, Gertrude <br />Beeger was given permission to subdivide Lot 1, Block 2, New High <br />School Acres, according to sketch submitted. <br />The City Manager submitted letter with his proposals concerning the lighting <br />of El Camino Real south of Five Points. It was thought best not to put <br />in additional equipment at present but just to increase the wattage of <br />the lamps already installed. <br />There was ordered filed a letter from the Fraternal Order of Eagles endorsing <br />the continuation of support to San Francisco Peninsula, Inc. <br />
