F • � �S v .r MINUTES OF ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL JANUARY 22, 1940 8:00 P. M. Upon roll call the following Councilmen were present: E. A. Fletcher, R.N. Jones, P. A. McCarthy, G. W. McNulty, Mayor L. 0. Christensen, and City Clerk B.E. Myers; absent, Councilmen H. F. Anderson and Wm. Hohn. The Planning Commission filed letter recommending the zoning and changing of setback lines according to notice attached to letter. Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McNulty, moved to introduce ordin- ance zoning certain properties specified and changing setback line on streets mentioned; at the same time setting January 29 at 9 P. M. as the date for the hearing thereon. Carried. Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, proposed adoption of Ordinance 433 regulating the enlargement, alteration, or repair of frame and wooden buildings in districts other than fire districts. Carried. Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman.McNultyy, proposed adoption of Ordinance 434 amending Ordinance 4213 Redwood City Building Code. Carried. A. B. Cheatham requested permission to build, according to sketch submitted, on -California Street back of the American Trust Company Bank to the corner of Montgomery Street. On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McNulty, the building inspector was authorized to issue building permit for the construction. On motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman McNulty,,the City Manager was instructed to see that all model home signs were taken down. Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Jones, proposed that the Council pass resolution adopting budget and approving supplementary memorandum of agreement concerning the use of gas tax money. Carried. On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Jones, Gertrude Beeger was given permission to subdivide Lot 1, Block 2, New High School Acres, according to sketch submitted. The City Manager submitted letter with his proposals concerning the lighting of El Camino Real south of Five Points. It was thought best not to put in additional equipment at present but just to increase the wattage of the lamps already installed. There was ordered filed a letter from the Fraternal Order of Eagles endorsing the continuation of support to San Francisco Peninsula, Inc.
