112 <br />The claim of Peter Sorensen for $455, final payment on Middlefield Road work, <br />was authorized paid on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Council- <br />man Fletcher. <br />On motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, the Council <br />adjourned to meet Monday, S P. M. <br />Upon roll call the following Councilmen were present: H. F. Anderson, E.A. <br />Fletcher, R. N. Jones, P. A. McCarthy, G. 17. McNulty, and Mayor L. C. <br />Christensen; absent, Councilman Wm. Hohn and City Clerk B. E: Myers. <br />Upon motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McCarthy and <br />carried, Councilman Anderson was elected Clerk Pro -tem. <br />Upon motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Anderson and <br />carried, and upon recommendation of the planning commission, permission <br />was granted to Chas H. Holt to subdivide Lots 1 and 2, Block 4, Jefferson <br />Acres, into three lots according to the map approved by the planning <br />commission. <br />The Girls' Club at Emerald Lake made application by letter for a lower water <br />rate for the Club, and after considerable discussion the City Manager <br />recommended that a rate of twenty-five cents net per one hundred cubic <br />feet be granted the Club from February 1, 1910. Councilman Fletcher, <br />seconded by Councilman McCarthy, moved to that effect. Councilman <br />Anderson, seconded by Councilman McNulty, moved to amend the motion <br />to read thirty-two cents instead of twenty-five cents. Upon roll call <br />on the amendment the result showed two "Yes" and four "No" and the <br />3 <br />amendment was lost; and upon roll call on the original motion the vote <br />showed two "Yes" and four "No" and the original_ motion was declared lost. <br />Following this, on motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman <br />Anderson, the City Manager was requested to write a letter to the Club <br />explaining the water situation <br />Motion carried. <br />i <br />
