MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />MARCH 1E, 1940 <br />8:00 P. M. <br />Upon roll call the following Councilmen were present: H. F. Anderson, E. A. <br />Fletcher, Wm. Hohn, R. N. Jones, P. A. McCarthy, G. W. McNulty, Mayor L. C. <br />Christensen, and City Clerk B. E. Myers. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting of March 4 were approved on motion of Council- <br />man Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McCarthy. <br />Mrs. K. McGraw of 1226 Warren Street complained to the Council concerning the <br />keeping of goats near her property. The matter was referred to the City <br />Manager. <br />Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Anderson, proposed adoption of <br />r <br />resolution accepting deeds from the following persons for property in- <br />dicated. Carried. <br />P <br />Grantor Lot Block Subdivision <br />1) Henry H. Traxler and A. B. Harrison 20 43 Central Park No. 2 <br />and Emil S. Traxler, wife of Henry <br />H. Traxler and Mary E. Harrison, <br />wife of A. B. Harrison <br />2) C. A. Orr of the County of Butte, State 22 36 Central Park No.•2 <br />of California <br />Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman McNulty, proposed adoption of <br />Resolution Ivo. 1940-1 for the eradication of weeds. Carried. <br />On motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, Ordinance <br />No. 436 regulating and relating to the construction and maintenance of <br />signs was adopted. <br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McCarthy, there was <br />introduced ordinance regulating "fire" and "closing out° sales. <br />There was read a letter from James, A. Miller protesting the proposed improve- <br />ment of Lexington Avenue. The Clerk was asked to acknowledge it and to <br />tell Mr. Miller that his protest had been given consideration at the time <br />the Council had decided to start proceedings. <br />In a letter to the Council, the Special Events Department of the Golden Gate <br />International Exposition solicited the cooperation of the Council in <br />planning a special day at the exposition. It was announced that a local <br />, <br />organization had already intended to use June 2 for a special community <br />visit at the exposition, and it was decided, on motion of Councilman <br />Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Anderson, to use this date if it seemed <br />satisfactory to the different organizations concerned. <br />i <br />i <br />12'7 <br />
