i <br />u <br />I <br />The City Building Inspector also made report on an old house at 229 Samson <br />Street and recommended that the building be condemned and demolished. <br />Following this recommendation, abatement proceedings were ordered on <br />motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Anderson. <br />Ordinance No. 437, introduced March 18, concerning the regulation of 'fire° <br />and "closing out" sales in the City of Redwood City was unanimously <br />adopted on motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McCarthy. <br />The City Manager had read to the Council a letter addressed to him by Lieutenant <br />Adams, Commanding Officer, Section 2, United States Naval Communication <br />Reserve, in which request was made for a location in Redwood City for a <br />control center for Naval Communication Reserve Radio Stations, and men- <br />tioned that suitable quarters could be had in the Redwood City Fire House. <br />Permission to use a part of the Fire House, as brought out in the dis- <br />cussion, was granted on motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Council - <br />man Fletcher. <br />The City Manager presented the county tax bill covering second installment <br />taxes on the O'Dea property being bought by the city, and was authorized <br />to have -it paid. There was also a pro rata charge for that portion lying <br />outside of the city limits and included on the tax roll with the O'Dea <br />acreage. On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McCarthy, <br />the City Manager was authorized to pay this item when the correct amount <br />has been determined. <br />Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman McNulty, moved the adoption of <br />resolution requesting the Board of Supervisors to cancel second install- <br />ment of taxes, $19.04, on Lot 6 of Resubdivision of Redwood City Harbor <br />Company's lands. Carried. <br />Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, proposed adoption of <br />resolution instructing Superintendent of Streets to have arterial stop <br />signs erected at the intersection of Hudson Street and James Avenue. <br />Carried. <br />The City Attorney presented for.introduction an ordinance reclassifying or <br />rezoning Lots 2 and 3 in Block 6, Range B, being property along Arguello <br />between Marshall and Bradford Streets. Ordinance introduced on motion of <br />Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Anderson. <br />!i The departmental reports were ordered filed. <br />+I <br />The approved claims were ordered paid on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded <br />by Councilman Anderson. <br />Adjournment. <br />i <br />I <br />�l <br />BEM: HAS <br />City Clerk <br />131 <br />
