Please <br />confirm the above authorization." <br />Authorization given on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Council- <br />man Christensen. <br />B. M. Edmon was given permission to conduct a restaurant and a pool room at <br />2303 E1 Camino Real on motion of Councilman Werder, seconded by Council- <br />man Christensen. <br />Mr. H. Weiner of the San Mateo County Realty Company supplemented his letter <br />of May 3 asking permission to erect three signs concerning Camino Villa <br />and also the placing of a steel and concrete building on Southern <br />Pacific property 100 feet north of'the present Shell 011 Company station. <br />On motion of Councilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman McNulty, per- <br />mission to erect three signs according to the sketch submitted was given <br />with the understanding that all signs be placed on the property. No action <br />was taken about the placing of the building on the lot mentioned, except <br />that it would be considered at the next meeting <br />There was read a letter from the Foresters of America requesting permission to <br />hold public dances until 2:00 o'clock in the morning. However, as the <br />committee representing the Foresters was not present, the matter was <br />laid over until the next meeting. <br />There was read a letter from the Secretary -Manager of the San Mateo County <br />Fiesta requesting contribution, and the matter was referred to the Chamber <br />of Commerce for its recommendation. <br />Following the recommendation of the City Manager and the Chief of Police, <br />resolution was adopted, on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by <br />Councilman Christensen, to place stop signs at the intersection of Hopkins <br />Avenue and Alameda de las Pulgas and at the intersection of Myrtle Street <br />and James Avenue. <br />The City Manager filed, for the information of the Council, a letter indicating <br />that F. F. Vanderborden, member of the Redwood City Commuter Club, had been <br />appointed a member of the Parks and Recreation Commission. <br />On motion of Councilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman McNulty, the Council <br />concurred in the recommendation of the Chamber of Commerce to expend 055 <br />from the city advertising fund for a half -page advertisement in the Calif- <br />ornia Real Estate Magazine. <br />I <br />
