The City Collector submitted the following letter: <br />"On January 26, 1939 Mayor Christensen and City Manager Dimmitt <br />recommended that the sum of $180.43 be accepted in settlement <br />of the charges on the following property instead of $191.39 <br />actually due if the total amount was paid in full. The property <br />referred to is Arb. Bik. 409, Lots 4-5 and Arb. Blk. 3g4, Lot 12 <br />or legal description Por. Block 3, Hancock Addition and Lot 16, <br />B.lk. 17, Sweeney Addition. <br />Delinquent taxes $ 154.54 <br />11 Bond N-2 25.89 <br />Penalty -costs 10.96 <br />$191.39 <br />Mr. Tuite has paid all penalties on this statement with the <br />exception of $10.96. On February 7, 1939, a check was received <br />in the amount of $190.43. Please confirm the above authorization." <br />Authorization given on motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Fletcher. <br />Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, proposed adoption of resolution <br />accepting deed from McGarvey and Flynn for lots 3, 4 and 5 in Block 5 of Redwood <br />Villa Park for recreation park. <br />Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, proposed adoption of resolution <br />accepting easement from E. E. Curtis covering a portion in Lot 5, Block 4, New High <br />School Acres. Carried. <br />Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Anderson, proposed the final passage of <br />Ordinance No. 420 adopting uniform building code. Carried. <br />Mr. Leo Fuller, speaking for the Baer Photo Company, asked permission to have the "bear,, <br />reinstalled on EL Camino Real between the Shell Oil Station and the Cheatham pottery <br />place opposite Wellesley Park. After considerable discussion concerning the ap- <br />pearance of the "bear's, it was finally decided, on motion of Councilman Fletcher, <br />seconded by Councilman McCarthy, to permit the replacement of the 11bea.r" at the <br />location, provided the site met with the approval of the City Manager, and further <br />provided that the "bears' be kept suitably painted. <br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Anderson, dog ordinance amend- <br />ing Ordinance No. 307 was introduced. <br />On motion of Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman McCarthy, the City Manager was <br />authorized to execute agreement between the City and Mr. A. J. Wilbe covering the <br />city's contribution of $1,500 toward the.carrying charges of the Model Home -to be <br />constructed on Lot 16 in Block 7, Edgewood Park. <br />The clerk was asked to bring up at the next meeting disposition of the building at 331 <br />Heller Street. <br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Anderson, the Clerk was in- <br />structed to notify W. H. Lown, owner of an old house on Stambaugh near Cedar, either <br />to clean up the property or else the city would take steps to abate the condition. <br />The City Manager submitted for consideration request of out -of -the -city water consumers <br />for the installation of fire hydrants and what charges the Council would like to <br />
