176 <br />■! <br />With reference to the abatement proceedings heretofore ordered, and other re- <br />moval of old buildings, it was reported by the Building Inspector that the <br />premises at 229 Samson Street had been torn down and also the barn on <br />Poplar Avenue. In reference to the premises at Walnut and Bradford Streets <br />the same was continued to June 17, 194,0, at 9:00 o'clock P. M. on motion <br />of Councilman Edmonds, seconded by Councilman Christensen, and carried, to <br />permit the Executrix of the estate owning the property to determine what <br />action she desired to take in the matter. <br />With reference to the barn on Arguello Street at Rogers a letter was filed by <br />E. H. Zimmer, the occupant of the property upon which the barn is situated <br />and after considerable discussion the matter was continued to June 17, <br />1940 at 9:00 o'clock P. M. <br />In the matter of Resolution of Intention No. 1940-1, sidewalks in Central Park <br />district, affidavits of posting notices of improvement and publishing <br />said Resolution of Intention were on motion of Councilman Christensen, <br />seconded by Councilman Granger, and carried, ordered filed. <br />This being the time for hearing protests there were no protests filed but con- <br />siderable discussion was had and questions answered to interested property <br />owners and upon motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman <br />Christensen, and carried, by roll call vote of all councilmen present, <br />the following resolution was adopted. <br />RESOLUTION ORDERING THE WORK NO. 1940-1 <br />'RESOLVED, THAT WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Redwood City did, <br />on! the 6th day of May, 1940, pass and adopt Resolution of Intention No. <br />1940-1 to order the hereinafter described work to be dome and improve- <br />ments to be made in the City of Redwood City; and <br />WHEREAS, notices of the passage of said Resolution of Intention No. <br />1940=1, headed °NOTICE OF IMPROVEMENT°, were duly and regularly posted <br />along the line of said contemplated work and improvements and in front <br />of all the property liable to be assessed therefor, and on all of the <br />streets in the district to be assessed therefor, in time,.form, manner <br />and number as required by law, as appears from the affidavit of C. L. <br />Dimmitt, Superintendent of Streets of the City of Redwood City, and now <br />on file in the office of the Clerk of said City; and <br />WHEREAS, it appears from the affidavit of said C. L. Dimmitt, here- <br />inbefore referred to herein, that the posting of said notices of improve- <br />ment as aforesaid was completed on the 20th day of May,*1940; and <br />WHEREAS, it appears from the affidavit of Bernice Gardner that said <br />Resolution of Intention No. 1940-1 was duly and regularly published in <br />the Redwood City Tribune, a daily (except Sunday) newspaper published, <br />printed and circulated in said City of Redwood City; and <br />WHEREAS, in and by said Resolution of Intention No. 1940-1 and'the <br />notices of the passage thereof posted as aforesaid, said Council of the <br />City of Redwood City fixed Monday, the 3rd day of June, 1940, at the hour, <br />of 9:00 o'clock P.M. of said day at the Council Chamber of the Council of <br />the City of Redwood City in the City Hall on Middlefield Road in said city, <br />J <br />n <br />
