During his part of the discussion, Alfred Morton pre- <br />sented to the.Council a check for $500 which had been raised by various groups for <br />the start of a Recreation Fund. Mr. Wolbert, speaking as president of the Lions <br />Club,,assured the Council that in his opinion service clubs and other organizations <br />could rally enough support to such a program to insure sufficient equipment, pro- <br />vided land and buildings were furnished. <br />Adjournment. <br />City Clerk <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />MARCH 6, 1939 <br />'8:00 P.M. <br />Upon roll call the following were present: Councilmen H. F. Anderson, E. A. Fletcher, <br />Wm. Hohn, R. N. Jones, P. A. McCarthy, G. W. McNulty, Mayor L. C. Christensen, and <br />City Clerk B. E. Myers. <br />The minutes of the meeting of February 20 and the special meeting of February 27 were ap- <br />proved on motion of Councilman Hohn, seconded by Councilman Anderson. <br />As requested by B. L. Warder, and on motion of Councilman Anderson and seconded by Council- <br />man McCarthy, the Mayor was asked to declare March 7 to March 14 as California Conser- <br />vation Week and to make formal proclamation to that effect. <br />In a petition to the Council, a score of property owners near the corner of Roosevelt Avenue <br />and Hudson Street, petitioned that the city place arterial "STOP" signs at that par- <br />ticular intersection. The matter was referred to the City Manager and the Chief of <br />Police. <br />The City Collector submitted the following letter: <br />"On February 20, 1939, Mayor Christensen and City Manager Dimmitt <br />recommended that the sum of $30.00 be accepted in final settle- <br />ment of the charges on the following property instead of $103.36 <br />actually due if the total amount was paid in full. The property <br />referred to is our Arbitrary Block 160, Lot 1 or legal description <br />Lot 16, Block 20, Eagle Hill Addition assessed to John Rolla. <br />The -total delinquency was as follows: <br />Delinquent Taxes $ 36.42 <br />-,% Delinquent Weed 9.63 <br />Delinquent J-15 12.71 <br />Delinquent 0 34o.9g <br />Delinquent A 77.29 <br />Delinquent K-6 62.09 <br />Resolution M-15 17.75 <br />
