Thursday, June 20, 1940.
BETd:HAS City Clerki

j
3
MINUTES OF ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING
REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL
JUNE 20, 194o
l41:00 P.M.
{ Upon roll call the following Councilmen were present: L. C. Christensen,
H. W. Edmonds, F. D. Granger, W. M. Werder, Mayor H. F. Anderson, and
City Clerk B. E. Myers; absent, Councilmen E. A. Fletcher and G. W.
McNulty.
Mrs. Rose Larkin, was present as was her attorney, Wayne Millington, and also
Mr. Sadler of the Sadler Supply Company.
The principal reason for this adjourned meeting was further consideration
of the protest of Mrs. Rose Larkin, 124 Lincoln Avenue, against the
alleged unauthorized and illegal construction by the Sadler Supply Com-
pany on E1 Camino Real.
It was brought out that the original building conformed to building ordinance
restrictions; that an extra building at or on the property line was start-
-ed, but complaint was made; that the Council gave permission to proceed
with this building but that Mr. Sadler did not get regular building permit;
that recently an extension of this second building was begun and building
permit obtained; that the Building Inspector in giving this permit did
so on the basis that if the first part was satisfactory to the Council, it
would be all right to permit this addition; that neither the first part
nor the second complied with the fire ordinance.
Two times Councilman Christensen moved that Mr. Sadler be permitted to finish
the construction as started, but each motion was lost for a second. After
much discussion, Councilman Christensen moved as before, and Councilman
IEdmonds seconded. Upon roll call, the motion passed with Councilman
I
I
