There came before the Council for consideration the application of James Scott, for On <br />Sale Distrilled Spirits license at 2015 E1 Camino Real. Following report of Chief <br />of Police that there was some question as to the character of the applicant, it <br />was decided to protest the granting of the license, and the Clerk was instructed <br />to notify the State Board of Equalization accordingly. <br />There was ordered filed affidavit of Posting and Mailing Notice of Filing Street As- <br />sessment 1939-5 and of time fixed for hearing thereon. After which, Councilman <br />Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McNulty, proposed the adoption of resolution con- <br />firming street assessment under resolution No. 1938-5, being for work on Avenue del <br />Ora and Quartz Street. Carried. <br />Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McNulty, proposed the introduction of Ordi- <br />nance of Intention No. 1939-1, closing portion of Lincoln Street. <br />Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, proposed the adoption of resolu- <br />tion accepting deeds for the following described property. Nelson, single 12 2 Amended Map of the Oaks <br />Mr. L. E. Bostwick of 29 Lowell Street, in a letter to the Council, suggested that some- <br />thing be done to encourage wild fowl to gather near the Yacht Harbor or Commercial <br />Harbor. While it was thought best not to take any action about the proposed plan, <br />the Clerk was asked to write a letter to Mr. Bostwick in appreciation of his interest <br />and also a letter to the Game Warden commending him for the work he had done. <br />The City Manager submitted request that the sign formerly decided for Avondale be changed <br />to a site on Whipple Avenue. The matter was referred to the City Manager to place <br />the sign at the point desired. <br />The Departmental reports were ordered filed. <br />The approved claims were ordered paid on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Council- <br />man Anderson. <br />41�,71��xlA <br />City Clerk <br />21 <br />
