r The City Manager told the Council that the terms of 0. K. Whittenburg and Mrs. Thorning as members of the Board of Library Trustees expired July 300 and that appointments to the Library Board should be made by the City Council for a term of three years. On motion of Councilman Edmonds, seconded by Councilman Christensen, the appointments were laid over until the next meeting. The City Manager informed the Council that the terms of H. A. Beeger and R. C. R. Morser as members of the Port Commission expired July 1, and that he recom- mended the appointment of both Mr. Beeger and Mr. Morser for the five-year term expiring July 1, 1945. His recommendations were approved by the Council on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Christensen. The City Tax Collector submitted the following letter: "On May 9, 1940, City Manager Dimmitt, City Councilman. L. C. Christensen and Councilman H W Edmonds agree to accept the sum of $600 in payment of the following account instead of 01168.93 actually due if the full amount was paid. The property referred to is our Arb. Blk, 316, Lot 6-F or legal description parcel 40.60 ft. on Rogers St., 101.12 ft. on Stafford St. being a,portion of M. R. Helmer's 1 Acre Tract, assessed to Mrs Ella Helmer of 125 Rogers Street. 1939-40 Tax $ 9.12 Del. Tax 70.75 Del. Weed Tax 1.06 Bond Assmt. M. 121.37 Bond Assmt.
