5
C. L. Dimmitt, as secretary for the Redwood City Planning Commission, report-
ed in a letter the Planning Commission recommended to the City Council
s' that the Redwood Highlands Company be permitted to subdivide Lot 8 in
Block 10 of Oak Knoll Manor according to the sketch submitted. On motion
of Councilman Edmonds, seconded by Councilman McNulty, the Council con -
curved in the recommendation, and it was so ordered.
The Chamber of Commerce, by its president, and the Secretary -manager, sub-
mitted letter referring to previous agreement between the Chamber and
the City relating to city appropriation for the benefit of the Chamber
and asking that the city consent to carry on the agreement for the en-
suing fiscal year. It was decided to do so on motion of Councilman
Christensen, seconded by Councilman McNulty.
Yorkshire Clothes submitted a letter to the Council protesting the payment
of a license fee of $50 a quarter to operate a "suit club". It was there-
fore decided, on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman
Granger, that the attorney be instructed to see that Ordinance No. 159,
pertaining to licensing suit and other clubs be repealed. In the same
connection, on motion of Councilman Edmonds, seconded by Councilman
McNulty, the City Collector was instructed to refund the $50 already
paid in.
Norman Menifee again appeared before the Council in connection with the pro-
posed payment of 04,000 in lieu of all takes on a certain group of 31
lots. He indicated the buyer was unwilling to make the cash payment,
but he (Menifee) stated the buyer was willing to make a down payment of
01,500 and semi-annual payments of $500 each for the balance at six per-
cent interest. Following considerable discussion, Councilman Werder,
seconded by Councilman Christensen, moved that the city accept the offer
as made, but before it was voted on, it was decided to withdraw the motion,
primarily because the Council had nothing before it directly from the
buyer as to what he proposed to do. It was finally decided, on motion of
Councilman Werder, seconded by Councilman McNulty, to have the Attorney
work with Mr. Menifee and the San Mateo County Title Company and formulate
0
