204. <br />tract <br />a con/ or agreement showing full details of the transaction and present <br />this agreement for the consideration of the committee, and the committee <br />would report back to the Council its recommendation. t <br />t <br />Ole Oleson asked if it would be possible for him to erect a steel building <br />with cement floor, about 35 feet by 40 feet, on the property next to <br />his present location. As the erection of such a building at that loca- <br />tion would be contrary to the present ordinance, it was decided, on <br />motion of Councilman Werder, seconded by Councilman Granger, to lay <br />the matter over until the next meeting. <br />B. J. Smith, representing the proponents of the Friendly Acres annexation, <br />asked what report he could take back to his constituents as to the pres- <br />ent status of the matter. The Attorney reported that he had been waiting <br />to reach Judge McNutt to have him sign a copy of the findings in the case <br />and also reported that it was likely that the case would be appealed. <br />However, he was asked to make as definite a report as possible at the <br />next meeting. <br />The- City Manager and Chief of Police submitted maps of the city showing the <br />location of proposed parking areas. To give the members of.the Council <br />opportunity to study the situation, the matter was continued until the <br />next meeting. <br />Councilman Werder, seconded by Councilman McNulty, proposed adoption of the <br />following resolution: Carried. <br />°RESOLUTION,OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY ADOPTING <br />BUDGET AND APPROVING MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT FOR EXPENDITURE OF 1/4 <br />CENT GAS TAX ALLOCATED FOR STREETS OF IdAJOR IMPORTANCE.° <br />"WHEREAS, a memorandum of agreement has been presented to be enter- <br />ed into with the State of California in accordance with a project state- <br />ment for expenditure of the 1/4 cent gas tax for the fiscal year 1941 <br />allocated for streets of major importance other than State highways in <br />the City of Redwood City; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has heard read said agreement in full <br />and is familiar with the contents thereof; <br />THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City, of Red- <br />wood City that said project statement be and it is hereby adopted as <br />the budget of proposed expenditures of the 1/4 cent gas tax allocated <br />for streets of major importance other than State highv:ays, and said. <br />agreement be and the same is hereby approved and the City Manager is <br />directed to sign the same on behalf of said City, said agreement to be <br />binding upon the City upon its execution by the authorized officials, <br />of the State." <br />H. F: Morton, representing the Permanente Corporation, appealed to the Council <br />that there be no discrimination in city contracts as to the purchase of <br />cement, and he asked an equal opportunity for his company in securing the <br />business of any contractors doing work for Redwood City.
