a <br />On motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman McNulty, the following resolution <br />was adopted: <br />"RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City that where- <br />as on October 10, 1939, said Council by resolution adopted on said date <br />in conformity with Chapter 397, State Statutes of 1931 of the State of <br />California with amendments thereto, fixed the minimum compensation to be <br />paid for any skilled or unskilled labor for work to be performed in the <br />construction of a New Public Library, Redwood City, California, P.W.A. <br />Project Calif. 1992-F. <br />NOW BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said resolution hereinbefore <br />referred to and adopted October 10, 1939, be amended by the addition <br />thereto of the following: <br />Hourly'Wage Per Diem <br />Trade or Occupation Rate Wage <br />Operators - Power Shovels or other <br />Excavating Equipment $ 1.66 2/3 $ 13.33 <br />Oilers - Power Shovels 1.16 2/3 9.322 <br />Operators - Concrete Mixer 1.25 10.0011 <br />Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Anderson, proposed the adoption of the following <br />resolution which was unanimously adopted: <br />TRESOLVED by the Council of the City- of Redi7ood City .that the <br />City of Redwood City hereby waives all claim to interest charge during <br />construction of P.W.A. Project No. Calif. 1992-F Public Library, Red- <br />wood City, and request that interest Item No. 6 of above-named project <br />statement in the amount of $900.00 be ti-ansferred to Item No. 3 in said <br />project statement, thus increasing last named item by the amount named <br />above." <br />Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McNulty, proposed adoption of resolution <br />authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk to transfer by Quit Claim Deed to Hazel L. <br />Sackett Lot 19, Block 46, Central Park No. 2. Carried. <br />Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Anderson, proposed adoption of resolution No. <br />1939-2, Abatement of Weeds. Carried. <br />Councilman Fletcher; seconded by Councilman McCarthy, proposed the final passage of <br />Ordinance of Intention No. 1939-1. Carried. <br />Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, proposed adoption of the following <br />resolution establishing a park and recreation commission. Carried. <br />11A RESOLUTION ESTA13LISHING A PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, <br />AND DEFINING THE POWERS AND DUTIES OF SUCH COMMISSION. <br />SECTION 1. Be it resolved by the Council of the City of <br />Redwood City that there shall be, and there is hereby established, in <br />said City, a Park and Recreation Commission, to consist of nine (9) <br />members, to be appointed by the City Manager of said City. <br />The first members appointed hereunder shall be appointed <br />for the following terms of office: Two (2) shall serve in office for <br />one (1) year; two (2) shall serve in office for two (2) years; two (2) <br />shall serve in office for three (3) years, and three (3) shall serve <br />In office for four (4) years. Thereafter, each member appointed shall <br />serve in office fora term of four (h) years; the method of appointibent <br />to remain the same. The term or terms of office specified herein shall <br />not be deemed arbitrary, and should the City Council, by a majority <br />vote, after a fair hearing has been conducted thereon, determine that <br />it would be to the best interest of the Commission, or the City, that <br />a member be retired, it may so order and thereupon the City Manager <br />shall appoint a successor for the unexpired term of office of such <br />retired member.
