1 ANNUAL MEETING BOARD OF EQUALIZATION AUGUST 12,, 1940 10:00 A.M.. Upon roll call, the following Councilmen were present: L: C. Christensen, H. W. Edmonds; E. A. Fletcher, F. D. Granger, W. M. Werder, and, City Clerk B. E. Myers; absent, Mayor H. F. Anderson, and Councilman G. W. McNulty. n In the absence of Mayor Anderson, Councilman Christensen was chosen to,serve as chairman for the meeting. The City Council sat as a board of Equalization at this time. The assessment rolls had been delivered to the City Clerk and were made accessible to the public for examination. Advertisement had been made in the Tribune for two weeks. There being no complaints and no protests, Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Edmonds, moved that the assessment roll as presented by the City Assessor be accepted., Carried. Adjournment. BEM: HAS MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL AUGUST 19, 1940 •8:00 P. M. City Clerk Upon roll call, the following Councilmen were present: L. C. Christensen, E. A. Fletcher, F. D. Granger, G. W. McNulty, W. M. Werder, MayorH. F. Anderson, and City Clerk B. E. Myers; absent, Councilman H. W. Edmonds. The minutes of the meeting of August 5 and adjourned meeting of August 12 were approved on motion of Councilman Werder, seconded by Councilman McNulty. Application of Sam Yee for restaurant license at 813 Main Street granted on motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Christensen, sub- ject to a favorable report from the Health Department. Should the re- port be adverse, the -matter to come up at the next meeting. W. D. Keith of 1038 Roosevelt Avenue addressed the Council, as did three or four other citizens, concerning support for the local bus. Mr. Keith submitted a rather long list of names signed to a petition asking the R W 143
