216 <br />A' <br />concerning the bids for Inner Circle. Following this, Councilman Werder, <br />seconded by Councilman Christensen, proposed the adoption of resolution <br />awarding contract for work under 1940-3, Inner Circle, to Marshall S. <br />Hanrahan at the prices named in his bid. <br />It was decided to continue consideration of the proposed parking ordinance <br />until the next meeting of September 3, 1940. <br />The approved claims, Nos. 6645 to 6693, were ordered paid on motion of Coun- <br />cilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Christensen. <br />On motion of Councilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, the <br />Council adjourned to 5:00 P.M., September 3, 1940. <br />Re: Gerwin Proposal (See last paragraph on page 214). <br />BEM:HAS, <br />"An offer with reference to property involving 31 lots <br />in George H. Gerwin's.Oak Villa Homestead, agreeing to pay <br />$4,000.00 in settlement of all delinquent taxes, special <br />assessments, and accumulated penalties has been given our <br />careful attention and study. <br />An initial payment of 01500.00 is proposed with sub- <br />sequent payments of $500.00 at six months intervals, the full <br />amount to be paid within two and one-half years with inter- <br />est on deferred payments at"six percent. We recommend that <br />such an -agreement be approved containing the following pro- <br />visions: <br />1) A.resubdivision be made of the property involved in ac- <br />cordance with the map attached herewith. <br />2) Upon the initial payment of $1500.00, the lots marked on <br />said map as Unit l will be released, the full amount of <br />taxes, special assessments and accumulated penalties hav- <br />ing been paid thereon. <br />3) Within six months thereafter the second payment of $500.00, <br />plus interest due, will be made and lots marked as Unit 2 <br />will be.released under the same conditions as governed the <br />initial payment. 'At 'six"months intervals, as paynIents are <br />made, lots respectively marked Unit 3, 4, and 5 will be <br />released under same conditions as above. <br />4) When final payment is made, within not to exceed two and <br />one-half years, all tote included in this agreement will <br />be released. <br />5) Current taxes on all lots included will be paid during <br />life of this agreement so that no additional delinquencies <br />occur." <br />City Clerk <br />[l <br />
