<br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING
<br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL
<br />OCTOBER 21, 1940
<br />5:00 P. M.
<br />Upon roll call the following Councilmen were present: L. C. Christensen,
<br />E. A. Fletcher, F. D. Granger, G. W. McNulty, W. M. Werder, Mayor H. F.
<br />Anderson; absent, Councilman H. W. Edmonds. '
<br />On account of the death of City Clerk B. E. Myers there was no clerk present.
<br />On motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, and

<br />carried, Councilman Christensen was appointed Clerk pro tem. ,
<br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Christensen, and
<br />carried, the minutes of the regular meeting of October 7, 1940, and the
<br />special meeting of October 14, 1940, were approved as mailed.
<br />The following letter was received from Mrs. Miramontes, the City Collector:
<br />"On October 4, 1940, Gertrude F. Reed, 2845 Polk Street,
<br />San Francisco, purchased from the City of Redwood City
<br />Lot 2, Block 19, Eagle Hill Addition (Arb. Blk. 170
<br />Lot 6A), the sale price being #400.00. She paid a
<br />deposit of #40.00, balance to be paid at #15.00 per
<br />month with interest at 6%. Does this meet with your
<br />approval?" ,
<br />On motion of Councilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, and
<br />,carried, Mrs. Miramontes was given the authority to make said sale.
<br />The following letter was received from Mrs. Miramontes, City.Collector:
<br />"On August 19, 1940, City Manager C L Dimmitt and the
<br />committee recommended that the sum of #4000.00 be
<br />accepted in payment on Lots 12, 15, 19 and 20 in Block A
<br />Lots 1 to 22 inclusive in Block B and Lots 7 to.10 in -
<br />elusive in Block C and Lot 1 in Block D, Geo H. Gerwin's
<br />Oakvilla Homestead, - ,assessed to V and A-Gerwin.

<br />This agreement had been heretofore made by the Council and upon motion
<br />of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Werder, and carried,
<br />Mrs. Miramontes was given authorization, payment of #4,000 to be cash.
<br />A letter was received from the San Mateo, County Realty Company offering to
<br />the City as a recreation site a 26 acre piece of land known as the "Lopez"
<br />property and lying adjacent to'the westerly'city limits between Stafford
<br />Street and the Bayshore Highway. The letter was referred to the -Recrea-
<br />tion Commission.
