X36 <br />On motion of Councilman Granger, seconded by Councilman Edmonds, C. W. Eltring- <br />ham was appointed Treasurer of the City of Redwood City by the vote of <br />all Councilmen present, with the exception of Councilman Fletcher who voted <br />"No". Thereupon C. W. Eltringham took the oath of office as Treasurer of <br />the City of Redwood City. <br />On motion of Councilman Edmonds, seconded by Councilman Christensen, C. W. <br />Eltringham was appointed Auditor of the City of Redwood City by vote of <br />all members present, with the •exception of Councilman Fletcher who voted <br />"No". Thereupon C. W. Eltringham took the oath of office as Auditor of <br />the City of Redwood City. <br />On motion of Councilman Edmonds, seconded by Councilman Werder, and carried, <br />the oaths of office of C. W. Eltringham as Clerk, Treasurer, and Auditor <br />were filed. <br />On motion of Councilman Edmonds, seconded by Councilman Werder, and carried, <br />bond in the sum of $1,000 was fixed for C. W. Eltringham as Auditor of <br />the City of Redwood City. <br />The minutes of the meeting of October 21, 1940, were on motion of Councilman <br />Werder, seconded by Councilman Granger, and carried, approved as mailed. <br />On motion of Councilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman Edmonds, and <br />carried, permits to conduct used car sales lots were granted to Dearborn <br />Motor Sales, Oleson and Son, Davies Auto Company, and the West Bay Motors, <br />Inc., at the locations specified in their applications. <br />J. W. Dean of the Veterans of Foreign Wars presented a resolution from his <br />organization relative to Redwood City Waste Disposal Yard now operated <br />for two days a week, Tuesdays and Saturdays, which resolution requested <br />said yard be kept open for a greater number of days. The City Manager <br />reported that he would keep the yard open for an additional day each <br />week and investigate the matter and report to the Council at their next <br />meeting. Said matter to be placed on the agenda for the November 18 <br />meeting. <br />Edmund Scott spoke on the business license ordinance, protesting the license <br />on cigarette machines and requesting that if the ordinance was passed <br />that it be later amended to eliminate that provision. The Councilmen <br />discussed the matter and agreed that the section requiring a license tax <br />on cigarette machines would be eliminated when said ordinance was amended <br />after it became effective. <br />0 <br />1 <br />1. <br />
