242 <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />NOVEMBER 15, 1940 <br />5:00 P. M. <br />Upon roll call the following were present: Councilmen L. C. Christensen, <br />H..W. Edmonds, E. A. Fletcher, F. D. Granger, G. W. McNulty, W. M. <br />Werder, Mayor H. F. Anderson, and City Clerk C. W. Eltringham. <br />The minutes of the meeting of November 4, 1940, were approved as mailed on <br />motion of Councilman Werder, seconded by Councilman Christensen. <br />Wrex Cruse, representing the Redwood City Commuters Club, presented the City <br />with pictures of former Presidents Washington and Lincoln and suggested <br />that the pictures be hung in the Council Chambers. Members of the <br />Council expressed their appreciation of the gift and suggested that the <br />picture of the incumbent President of the United States be hung in the <br />Council Chambers along with the pictures of Washington and Lincoln. <br />The Council instructed the Clerk to write a letter thanking the Redwood <br />City Commuters. Club for the gift. <br />iA letter was received from the Redwood City Planning Commission relative to <br />Lot 51, Reese Subdivision, purchased under contract with the City'by <br />H. C.. Munson and his request for release of certain lots upon payment <br />of #100 per lot as provided in the contract. The Planning Commission <br />approved the release of one lot fronting on Redwood Avenue combined with <br />one lot in the rear, but recommended that for the release of the remain- <br />ing lots fronting on Redwood Avenue, at least two lots in the rear should <br />be combined with one lot fronting on Redwood Avenue. The recommendations <br />of the Planning Commission were approved on motion of Councilman Christen- <br />sen, seconded by Councilman Fletcher. <br />A letter was received from the Redwood City Planning Commission stating its <br />disapproval of the proposed subdivision of Lots 19 and 20 in Block 14 of <br />Central Park as requested by the owner of the property, C. H. Fritschen. <br />Accompanying the letter was a written protest filed with the Planning <br />Commission by ten property owners adjoining and in the vicinity of the <br />lots in question. The Council concurred in the recommendation of the <br />Planning Commission upon motion of Councilman Edmonds, seconded.by <br />Councilman Granger, and carried. In view of the fact that Mr. Fritschen <br />purchased this property from the City and that the agreement of sale, <br />signed by a representative of the city, provided that the purchase was <br />conditioned on the subdivision thereof, it was decided, after discussion, <br />1 <br />
