i The following resolution was 'adopted on motion of Councilman Werder, seconded { by Councilman Christensen, and carried by unanimous vote. "RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City that the First National Bank of San Mateo County, a corporation, and the Redwood City branches of the Bank of America National Trust and Savings Association, E, a corporation, be and they are hereby designated as the depositories for city funds." The following resolution was adopted on motion of Councilman Edmonds, seconded by Councilman McNulty and carried by unanimous vote. "RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City that C. W. Eltringham, City Clerk and Treasurer of the City of Redwood City, County of San Mateo, State of California, be and he is hereby author- ized in conjunction with the Mayor of the City of Redwood City to sign all warrants for -the payment of city moneys." The following resolution was adopted on motion of Councilman Werder, seconded by Councilman Christensen, and carried by unanimous vote. "RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City that C. W. Eltringham, City Treasurer, and either H. F. Anderson, Mayor, or C. L. Dimmitt, City Manager, shall have authority to enter the safe deposit box of said city situated at the Bank of America National Trust and Savings Association, branch bank, in Redwood City." On motion of Councilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman Werder, the City Attorney was instructed to cancel the surety bonds of former City Clerk and Treasurer, B. E. Myers, and Acting Treasurer C. L. Dimmitt as of November 19, 1940, and if possible to arrange for cancellation of the bond ' of the former City Clerk and Treasurer as at the date avA bond of C. L. Dimmitt, Acting Treasurer, became effective. On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Edmonds, and carried, it was decided that hereafter all matters relative to insurance and surety bonds were to be referred to the Insurance Committee designated by the City Council. City Manager C. L. Dimmitt was instructed to submit to the Council a written statement showing the basis used in allocating the cost of construction of sidewalks to the property in the Central Park area. Bert Werder, County Fire Warden, asked permission of the Council to remove existing sheds and for the construction of a temporary corrugated iron shed on Marshall, between Jefferson Avenue and Middlefield Road, the shed to be used for housing County owned fire equipment. Permission was un- officially granted provided the structure would be removed when so directed by the Council. The subject of Christmas lighting was discussed, and on motion of Councilman I� Granger, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, and carried, it was decided that the tree located in the park at the goreof Broadway and Arch Streets be included in the Christmas lighting program.
