M <br />1 <br />lr <br />MINUTES OF ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />DECEMBER 21,.. 194o <br />" 11:00 A.M. <br />1 <br />C <br />0 <br />Upon roll call the following were present: Councilmen H. W. Edmonds, E. A. <br />Fletcher, F. D. Granger, W. M. Werder, Mayor H. F. Anderson, and,City <br />Clerk C. W. Eltringham. Absent: Councilmen L. C. Christensen and <br />G. W. McNulty. <br />L. .Cedric Macabee presented for approval a map of Friend Industrial Tract, <br />located in,the area commonly known as East Redwood City Industrial <br />District, which was annexed to the City of Redwood City under Ordin- <br />P <br />and No. 4+9. <br />Mr. Summers, representing the Division of Highways, -asked that the Council <br />withhold approval of this map until proposed plans for widening the Bay - <br />shore Highway were officially approved,,as a setback line of approximately <br />95 feet is required for the contemplated widening of the Highway instead <br />of a 50 feet setback line as provided in the map. <br />After considerable discussion, Councilman Edmonas,;s,econded by Councilman <br />Granger; proposed that the matter of approving the map be laid over until <br />the second meeting in.January, 1941. The motion fakled to carry by a <br />vote of 3 to 2. <br />Councilman Granger retired from the meeting. <br />On motion of Councilman Werder, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, and carried <br />by unanimous vote of the Councilmen present, the map of Friend Industrial <br />Tract was approved. <br />Mrs. Helen Myers and a Mrs. Stewart appeared before the Council to discuss the <br />use of property located at 15 Fulton Street for the purpose of boarding <br />children.
