1 <br />I <br />0 <br />a <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY 'COUNCIL <br />JANUARY 20, 1941 <br />8:00 P. M. <br />Upon roll'call the following were present: Councilmen L. C. Christensen, <br />E. A. Fletcher, F. D. Granger, G. W. McNulty, W. M. Werder, Mayor H. F. <br />Anderson, and City Clerk C. W.,Eltringham; absent, Councilman H. W. <br />Edmonds. <br />On motion of Councilman Werder, seconded by Councilman Christensen, the minutes <br />of the regular meeting of January 6, 1941, were approved. <br />There was introduced for acceptance by the Council a map covering'.the resub- <br />division of property south of the intersection of E1 Camino Real and Wood- <br />side Road and known as the Five Points Commercial District. On motion by <br />Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McNulty, said map was approved. <br />This being the time set for a hearing on the confirmation of street assessments <br />under Resolution of Intention No. 1940-3, affidavits of publication, post- <br />ing and mailing notices of said hearing were ordered filed, and there being <br />no written protests thereto, the following resolution was adopted on motion <br />0 <br />of Councilman'McNulty, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, and carried �y <br />unanimous vote of the councilmen present. <br />°RESOLUTIQN CONFIRMING STET ASSESSMENT NO. 1940-3" <br />WHEREAS, the assessment for street work done under that certain con- <br />tract dated the 10th day of September, 1940, between MARSHAL S. HANRAHAN, <br />first party, and C. L. DIMMITT, as Superintehdent of Streets of the City <br />of Redwood City, second party, for the doing of all street work mentioned <br />and described in Resolution of Intention No. 1940-3, passed and adopted <br />by the Council of the City of Redwood City on the 17th day of June, 1940, <br />and now on file in the office of the Clerk of said city, to which Resolu- <br />tion of Intention reference is hereby made for a description of said work, <br />was filed in the office of the Clerk of the City of 'Redwood City on the <br />31st day of December, 1940; and <br />WHEREAS, said City Clerk did thereupon fix Monday, the 20th day of <br />January, 1941, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M. of said day., at the meet- <br />ing place of the Council of the City of Redwood City'in the Council Chamber <br />in the City Hall on Middlefield Road in the City of Redwood City as.the <br />time and place for a hearing on said assessment, as. required`'by law, and <br />as the time and place for making written objections thereto, as.provided <br />for in Ordinance No. 333 of the City of Redwood City; and <br />WHEREAS, Notice of Filing of said assessment and of the time fixed <br />for hearing thereon was duly given by posting, publishing and mailing as <br />required by law, as appears from the affidavits of R. J. Clarke, Beth <br />Hawkins and Bernice Gardner now on file in the office of the Clerk of <br />said City of Redwood City; and <br />WHEREAS, at the time and place last herein mentioned, no .objections <br />of any kind were made against said assessment; and <br />WHEREAS, said Council of the City of Redwood City has now acquired <br />jurisdiction thereon: <br />THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of'Redwood City, <br />County of San Mateo, State of California, that the assessment above men, <br />tioned for street work done under Resolution of Intention No. 1940-3, <br />
