30 <br />In connection with the sale of lots, there ensued considerable discussion, concerning <br />the desired procedure affecting brokers' commissions, down payments and instalment <br />payments. On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Anderson, it <br />was decided as follows: A 5% commission with a minimum commission of $25 provided <br />the selling price be $100 or more; the down payment to be at least 10% of the <br />selling price with a minimum payment of $25; deferred payments to bear interest <br />at 6%; no purchaser to be given copy of agreement to purchase until 1/3 of purchase <br />price is paid to city. <br />Offer of David Whetstone of 1459 Jefferson Avenue, Redwood City, to pay $300 for Lot 3, <br />Block 9, Range D, Mezesville, with a $30 down payment was acce»ted on motion of <br />Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman McCarthy, and the City Attorney was <br />instructed to draw up the necessary papers for the deferred payments in line with <br />the agreement in the above paragraph. <br />Offer of M. L. Cavanaugh to pay $300 for Lot 5, Block 9, Range D, Mezesville, with a <br />$30 down payment was accented on motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Council- <br />man Jones, and the City Attorney was instructed to draw up the necessary papers for <br />the deferred payments. <br />On motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Anderson, and carried, the Council <br />adopted resolutions accepting the following deeds as listed below: <br />Grantor <br />Rose Wright, wife of A. Carried. <br />Docket: Calif. 1895-F Wharf & Warehouse <br />"RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City that the <br />City of Redwood City hereby requests authorization to increase the <br />total estimated cost of the above project in the amount of $1000.00, <br />which is to be added to Classification Item 3 Construction $82,047.00 <br />thereby increasing this Classification Item 3 Construction to $83,047.00. <br />In a letter to the Council, the J. L. Tuttle Co. requested a different classification for <br />license affecting their delivery of cottage cheese into Redwood City. Upon advice <br />and suppestion from the City Attorney, and on motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded <br />by Councilman McCarthy, it was decided to make this charge $10 a year, pending <br />amendment of the present ordinance. <br />In accord with the recommendation of the City Manager, following receipt of request from <br />the G. W. Williams Co. for an extension of 45 days to complete its contract for <br />the construction of the City Library, 1992-F, resolution granting 45 days extension <br />was adopted on motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Jones, with <br />Councilman Fletcher voting "No". <br />
