Ingraham, representing the First Baptist Church, appeared before the Council <br />�! in connection with proposed improvements and alterations of the :church building <br />located at the intersection of Hudson and Grand Streets and submitted plans <br />and sketches. The proposed plans, however, indicated the violation of the <br />i� <br />zoning regulations since the building covered a greater area than the amount <br />f <br />permitted by ordinance. City Attorney Mansfield explained that a new zoning <br />, <br />ordinance was'.being prepared that may permit buildings of the sized' -proposed, <br />and would be submitted at the next meeting. At the suggestion of the City <br />1gg Attorney, no action was taken upon this matter. - <br />W. H. Morrisey, representing a client interested in acquiring property in the Lenolt <br />3 <br />Tract, explained that difficulties we're being encountered in clearing the title <br />Y <br />to certain lots in the tract on which the City has acquired title. He stated <br />`4 <br />that his client was willing to pay all delinquent taxesp assessments, etc., and <br />x asked that the Qity arrange to execute quit -claim deeds on the property. Coun- <br />cilman McNulty., seconded by Councilman Fletcher, proposed the adoption of a <br />resolution; authorizing•the Mayor and City Clerk to execute quit -claim deeds <br />to.the•Doxsee Company on Lots 4, 5, 6, and 7 in Block 6, Lot 7 in Block 4, <br />Lot 4 in Block 7, Lot 10 in Block 10, Lot 16 -in Block. 8, Lenolt Tract, upon <br />payment of all delinquent city taxes levied and assessed against said property. <br />Carried on roll call by unanimous vote of the Councilmen present.,.;" <br />The Ladies Auxiliary to Corporal James Lindsay Wilson Post No. 2310, Veterans of <br />( Foreign Wars, presented a resolution adopted by that organization on December <br />5, 1940, urging the City Council to have the Union Cemetery kept in a clean <br />rcondition throughout the year, instead of the usual practice of ,cleaning only <br />once a year. The Council concurred in this recommendation and asked the City <br />Manager to bring the matter before them at the time of preparing the next <br />7 <br />budget. <br />A letter from the Pacific Greyhound Lines relative to .parking of buses on Brewster <br />and other streets in the vicinity of the bus depot was read and ordered filed. <br />Councilman Granger, Chairman of a committee appointed by,the Mayor to study the <br />City electrical ordinance and electrical code, reported the progress the com- <br />mittas had made and expressed the hope that a report would be presented at the <br />next meeting. <br />J. H. D. Peters, acting as agent for the owner of property at 229 Hudson Street, <br />protested against•a dancing school being conducted at 221 Hudson Street.
