278 <br />■+ <br />Ili <br />a <br />meeting and that Miss Dorothy Roberts, operator of the dancing school, be <br />directed to personally appear before the Council at that time. <br />'In the matter of abatement proceedings on the building owned by Miss Lillie <br />Kuck, located at the intersection of Spruce and Main Streets, the Building <br />Inspector presented a diagram showing the present condition of the building. <br />Miss Kuck again expressed her intention of improving the building,. but pre- <br />sented no definite plans or specifications.as requested at the last meeting <br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McNulty, this <br />matter was continued until the March 3, 1941, meeting and.Miss Kuck was <br />instructed to submit detailed plans and specifications of the proposed im- <br />provements ,by that date. <br />City Manager Dimmitt submitted a preliminary report as the result of investiga- <br />tion of sidewalks on Roosevelt Avenue. No action was taken, however, and <br />the matter was ordered dropped until again requested. <br />In connection with the franchise of the Redwood City Bus Line, City Attorney Mans- <br />field suggested that Mr. Martin should obtain counsel to prepare the franchise <br />rather than have it done by the City Attorney. Concurring in this suggestion, <br />the Council ordered the matter continued until the next meeting. <br />On motion of Councilman Werder, seconded by Councilman Granger, permission was <br />granted Cuddy Motor Company to conduct a used car lot at 330 El Camino Real <br />for a period of six months. <br />An ordinance regulating the keeping of animals and fowls within the city limits <br />was offered for introduction on motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by <br />Councilman Christensen and carried by unanimous vote of the Councilmen present. <br />A resolution authorizing the City Manager to sign an agreement with the State of <br />California for expenditure of 1/4 cent gas tax allocated for state highways <br />was adopted on motion of Councilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman <br />Fletcher and carried. <br />Councilman Werder, a member of the committee appointed in connection with the <br />opening of a street between Oak and Redwood Avenues, reported that one of <br />the property owners desired a 10 year immunity from street assessments instead <br />of 5 years. On motion of Councilman Werder, seconded by Councilman Christen- <br />sen, the City Attorney was instructed to commence condemnation proceedings <br />on the property owned by Mr. Deleau unless the City T's proposal for 5 year <br />immunity from street assessments was agreed to.
