MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL MARCH 3, 1941 5:00 P. M. Upon roll call the following were present: Councilmen L. C. Christensen, E. A. Fletcher, F. D. Granger, G. W. McNulty, W. M. Werder, Mayor H. F. Anderson, and City Clerk C. W. Eltringham; absent, Councilman H. W. Edmonds. The minutes of the regular meeting of February 17, 1941, were approved on motion of Councilman Werder, seconded by Councilman Fletcher. On.motion of Councilman Werder, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, the Parks and Recreation Commission was authorized to purchase playground equipment for installation at the Yacht Harbor in the approximate amount of 0146.70; pay- ment for same to be from the Special Recreation Fund. The Parks and Recreation Commission was, on motion of Councilman Werder, see- onded by Councilman Christensen, authorized to expend from the Special Recreation Fund the sum of $50.00 to promote the support of Proposition No. 3 on the ballot at the 'special election to be held on March 25, 1941. On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McNulty, the recom- mendation of the Real Estate Committee to amend the present agreement with local real estate brokers governing the rate of commission payable on the sale of City owned lots was adopted. The real estate committee recommended the adoption of a schedule providing a rate of commission equal to five percent of the sale price of the lots with a minimum commission of $50 in lieu of the present commission rate amounting to ten percent of the sale price. The request*of the City Collector for approval of sale of N. E. 39.11 feet of Lot 14, Block 9, Eastern Addition, was read as follows: "Manuel and Isabel Triano have purchased from the City of Redwood City the N.E. 39.11 feet of Lot 14, Block 9, Eastern Addition, for the sum of $750, making a deposit of 0105. They will pay $20 each month at 6p.interest, payments to begin on April 19 1941. "Please advise me if this meets with your approval.° Authorization was granted on motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Werder, and carried. A letter from the San Mateo County Council, Boy Scouts of America, advising that arrangements are being made to remove the "Sea Scout" boat in Berth No. 31 at the Yacht Harbor was ordered filed. A•letter from W. H. Sadler commending the Council for action taken in connec- tion with certain old buildings in the city was ordered filed. 71. E,
