Councilman Christensen, <br />seconded by Councilman Fletcher, proposed that the adoption of the ordinance <br />be held over until the next meeting when Mr. Chappelle would present the <br />above petition. <br />The matter of a new zoning ordinance was ordered held over until the next meeting. <br />Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Christensen, proposed the adoption <br />of the following resolution: <br />"RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City that the Super- <br />intendent of Streets of said City be, and he is hereby ordered and directed <br />under the provisions of Ordinance No. 448 of said City to erect one hour <br />parking,limit signs on the westerly side of Perry Street from Broadway to <br />Brewster Avenue; on the westerly side of El Camino Real between Broadway <br />and Brewster Avenue; and on the southeasterly side of Brewster Avenue be- <br />tween Arch Street and El Camino Real, <br />AND BE TT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Superintendent of Streets of said <br />City be, and he is hereby ordered and diredted to erect fifteen minute park- <br />ing limit signs on the northerly side of Broadway fifty feet at the north- <br />east corner of Broadway and Main Street; and also fifty feet on the north- <br />west corner of Broadway and Jefferson Avenue; on the southerly side of <br />Broadway fifty feet at the southeast corner of Broadway and California <br />Street; and fifty feet at the southwest corner of Broadway and California <br />Street;•on the easterly aide of Jefferson Avenue for one hundred eighty <br />feet in front of the United States Post Office property." <br />Carried by unanimous -vote of the councilmen present. Mr. A. S. Kimberly <br />asked that the portion of Brewster Avenue between the alley in the rear <br />of the Safeway Market and Arch Street be made available for all day park- <br />ing for the benefit of bus commuters and the Council agreed that signs <br />would not be posted in this space until after the Pacific Greyhound Bus <br />Co. had moved its depot. <br />J. S. Farr, representing the San Mateo -Santa Clara Council, Veterans of Foreign <br />Wars, presented a resolution adopted by that organization urging the <br />Council to keep Union Cemetery in a clean condition throughout the year. <br />The resolution was ordered filed as action was taken on the matter at the <br />last meeting. <br />A resolution accepting an easement from John W. Poole and Helen A. Poole to a <br />strip of land on the easterly side of Jefferson Avenue was adopted on mo- <br />tion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, and carried <br />by unanimous vote of the Councilmen present. <br />Councilman Granger, seconded'by Councilman Werder, proposed the adoption of a <br />resolution accepting from George A. Deleau and Katherine F. Deleau a deed <br />to the northeasterly 60.57 feet, front and rear measurements of Lot 12 as <br />designated on the map entitled "Map of the Reese Subdivision of a part of <br />the Redwood Farm". Carried by unanimous vote of the councilmen present, <br />and the Clerk was instructed to issue a check to the California Pacific <br />Title & Trust Co. in the amount of 01100 in payment of the above property. <br />
